Help i have brought a vp-dc175wb digital camcorder today, when i press any of the buttons nothing happends, when i press either the menu button or theq menu nothing comes up

Need a link for the DV-M5056BLK-VP manual


Turn the Mode switch to capture mode, make sure the video icon is against the red triangle.

Press the Power button for about 1 second to enter video mode, the icon will appear on the upper left corner of the screen

Press ok to start recording
Press ok to stop recording the video
Press Menu for other options

For Photos:
Power On
Turn the Mode switch to capture mode, make sure the capture icon is against the red traingle
Press the OK button to take pictures

Press Menu to enter main menu for options

Date and time


If you are in cameramode press the menu button scroll all the way down at clock set you press the enter button
here you can adjust the date and time to adjust scroll with the weel to confirm press enter button

Help! Stopped Recording


Do you have a remote? Some camcorders you have to hit the record pause button on the remote and then hit pause. It then begins recording. I hope this works for you.

Recording From An External Device


The following Models can be used as a recorder to record from a VCR, TV or another Camcorder. 2004 - SC-D107 2003 - SC-D5000, SC-D27 2002 - SC-D180 Recording In Player Mode 1. Connect the camcorder to the VCR or TV with the AUDIO/VIDEO cable (provided) (to the A/V Outputs on External Device) 2. Set the power switch of the camcorder to PLAYER mode. 3. Turn on the VCR or TV. 4. Insert the blank tape with protection tab closed into the camcorder. If you want to record from a connected VCR, insert a recorded VHS tape into the VCR. 5. Press the MENU button, turn the MENU DIAL to highlight A/V and press the ENTER button. 6. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight AV IN/OUT and press the ENTER button to select AV IN. "AV IN" and picture appears on the LCD monitor. OUT : Releases the INPUT mode. 7. Press the START/STOP button to set the camcorder to REC PAUSE mode. "PAUSE" appears on the LCD monitor. 8. Select the TV program or playback the VHS tape. 9. Press START/STOP button to start recording. If you want to pause recording for a while, press the START/STOP button again. 10. To stop recording, press the (STOP) button. Notes: * Recording from an analog VCR to the camcorder is only possible when the VCR is playing back at normal speed. * If you want to see the camcorder picture with a TV, set AV IN/OUT in the menu to OUT.

Playing MPEG's


* The MPEG Playback function works in M. PLAY mode only. * You can play moving picture images on the Memory Card. * To hear sound during MPEG4 playback, you must hook up to a PC and listen to the PC's speaker. (You cannot hear it from the speaker on the camcorder or a TV) 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD position. 2. Set the power switch to PLAYER mode. 3. Press the MENU button and turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY. 4. Press the ENTER button to enter sub-menu. 5. Use the MENU DIAL to select MPEG4 from the sub-menu. (M. PLAY SELECT) 6. To exit the menu, push the MENU button. 7. Using the (FWD) and (REV) buttons, search for the moving picture that you want to playback. 8. Press the PLAY/STILL button. The moving pictures recorded on the MEMORY CARD begin playing back.

You can use the MEMORY FORMAT functions to completely delete all images and options on the Memory Card, including protected images. * The format function restores the Memory Card to its initial state. * The Memory Card supplied with this camcorder has been formatted already. Attention If you execute the MEMORY FORMAT function, all images will be erased completely and erased images cannot be recovered. 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD. 2. Set the power switch to PLAYER mode. 3. Press the MENU button. 4. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY and press the ENTER button. The sub menu will appear. 5. Select FORMAT from the list and press the ENTER button. 6. "ALL FILES ARE DELETED! FORMAT REALLY?" appears on the screen. 7. Using the MENU DIAL, select the item. NO : To return to previous menu YES : To start formatting. 8. Press the ENTER button. If you selected the YES, COMPLETE! appears on the screen when the MEMORY CARD formatting is finished. 9. Video capturing size question


You have two choices for Video size when creating MPEG4's. 320 x 240 or 160 x 120. Use the following instructions to change the size. Digital Still Camera Mode 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD position. 2. Set the power switch to CAMERA mode. 3. Press the MENU button. 4. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY. 5. Press the ENTER button to enter the submenu. 6. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MPEG4 SIZE. 7. Press the ENTER button. The MPEG4 SIZE toggles between 320 x 240 / 160 x 120 with each push. 8. Press Menu to Save and Exit.
