How do I get my cable channels?

Depends on the 'TV', some have built in tuners, so you should have a 'connector' that has threads, it is called an 'f' fitting. If your flat panel is branded as a 'Monitor' then it does NOT include the tuner. Most cable companies carry two tiers of service. The old 'analog' channels and the new digital channels. Your TV has to have a built in tuner or you have to connect it to a 'STB' (Set top Box) especially true if you only have digital channels, in which case how you connect to the TV/Monitor is based on the types of connectors both support. You should be able to use HDMI (carries both video and sound), but the channel selection will need to be done at the device that has the tuner.

Without more details, I cannot be more specific.

Could you please let me know if i can use my viewsonic monitor as a tv if so what cord do i need to get

The monitor does not have a built-in TV tuner and cannot function as a TV unless your computer has a TV tuner. In this case all you need to do is connect the monitor to your computer and start the TV tuner/program in your computer.

I have ODYSSEY external tv tuner which is connected to 20" inch HP LCD monitor. for six month ther was no probelm but now we are not able to view the Video but audio we can listen from the TV tuner. There...

Either the line connection (cord) is poorly making contact, or the video in/out module is bad. Attach the tuner to another computer monitor and see if you obtain a signal. If so you know the problem is with the HP LCD.

Is my Toshiba TV digital or analog?

if there is a label on the tv stating any of these words “Integrated Digital Tuner,” “Digital Tuner Built-In,” “Digital Receiver,” or “Digital Tuner,” “DTV,” “ATSC,” or “HDTV” then yes
if they say “Digital Monitor” or “HDTV Monitor,” or as “Digital Ready” or “HDTV Ready" then no

Using remote to play video DVD

You need to bypass your A/V tuner for your video connections (if possible). Plug your video directly into the TV and audio into the tuner. This will also give you a cleaner signal/picture as it does not have to processed by your tuner BEFORE it goes to your tv. Think of it as cutting out the middle man. Your tuner is best left for powering your speaker and not controlling your video despite all of the available connections in the back of it.

I would also get rid of your VHS and cassette players as they are dead technology. Clean up your system and remove the clutter. This will lessen your chance of getting interference. Good luck!!

I have a 30 year old tv w/cable. I want to install a dvd/vcr combo player. What kind do I need? I've tried one and it didn't have the right connection.

If the original TV doesn't have audio/video inputs, you'll need a DVD/VCR player that has a built-in RF modulator. A RF modulator takes the audio & video and modulates a RF carrier to one of the channels that your TV can receive. In the U.S., this is usually channel 3 or 4. If the DVD/VCR player has a built-in tuner, connect your cable to the RF input of the DVD/VCR player and the RF Output of the DVD/VCR player to the cable input of the TV. This way, you can receive your cable channels through the DVD/VCR player and watch movies as well. If your DVD/VCR player does not have a built-in tuner, you can put a RF switch inline that will allow your TV to either receive the cable signal or signal from the DVD/VCR player.

Good luck!

ACER LCD Monitor display is too bright!

I have my husband's hp monitor and thought I was going to go blind. I turned down the brightness to 0 and it still didn't help that much. I decided to turn down the contrast and it worked. Hope this helps.
