Generic problem for all PC Laptops

No sound

I have a gateway solo 2150 laptop that I'm "rebuilding" I installed xp and no I no longer have sound. I looked at the hardware and it says that I have Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device, and Video Codecs, all of which say to be working. However I have no sound. Gateway doesn't have any xp compatible drivers. I went to the download site where theres the file WDM148.zip and it wasn't compatible and didn't work. How do I fix this sound problem?

I have the same problem.

Download and run everesthome from
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
Once you open it and run the program

open motherboard
open chipset
click on south bridge

The audio controller will be listed.
Google XP drivers for that controller
Anything else contact mewms_14904@verizon.net
