Alex, I don't know how old your Vermont Castings Intrepid wood stove is, but the only available Owner's Manual is for their fairly new model Intrepid II wood stove.
A little quick history. Vermont Castings was an independent company 10 years ago, that was bought up by Majestic (FMC) Fireplace Company of Canada. About 5 years ago, Majestic went belly up and the VC line was purchased by Monesson Hearth Products. There have been some improvements to their wood stoves in the past couple of years, so as to meet the new EPA Requirements. I hate to be the one to rain on your parade, but the chances of finding the owners/installation manual for a 20+ year old wood stove is next to impossible. In addition, if you live in the U.S., Canada, or the UK, this stove doesn't even come close to meeting the EPA, NFPA and Home Owners Insurance standards. In addition, I would be concerned about the condition of a wood stove that old and and how safe it would be to operate. For your own piece of mind, you should check with your Home Owners Insurance carrier to see if they will cover a loss, that was due to the use of this wood stove.
