I have a copper pipe behind my fridge that needs to be connected to the fridge for the ice maker/water to work. What connecting hose do I need and how do I attach it from the copper pipe to the fridge?

use a 1/4 in nut and ring this is a very common connection. most lines will have the nut on the line .. some friges use a J Q connection on the valve and you will just have to push the line into the socket till it bottoms and your done. very simple . mm hotp this helps .. the water line pt # for your model is 218976409 and does use a 1/4 line connection and if your use this your will need a 1/4 in line coupler to connect from this line to your copper line . mm feed back pls ..

How do I replace the water line in the door?

Hello,

Find your route to the water line. Drill a hole in the floor behind the refrigerator and thread the copper tubing into the basement. Go to the basement and find the main water line and pull the copper tubing to it.

Step 2
Attach pipe to refrigerator. Go back up to the kitchen and attach the end of the copper tubing to the water pipe of the refrigerator. You can use a nut and ferrule to connect the tube to the fridge. Make sure to leave a little bit of copper tubing coiled behind the fridge so as to not disconnect the tubing when moving the fridge.

Step 3
Turn off the water. With the fridge all hooked up, go back to the basement and turn off the water. Find the cold water pipe and drill a 1/4-inch hole to accommodate the copper tubing.

Step 4
Attach valve to pipe. You need to attach the water valve to the main pipe. This allows you to control the flow of water to the refrigerator. Make sure you have a gasket to seal between the valve and main water pipe.

Step 5
Connect the copper tubing. With the valve connected to the main water pipe, connect the copper tubing using a clamp. This should be everything you need. Turn on the main water and you should be able to get a glass of water, but it will take an hour or two for the ice cubes to freeze.

Take care..

Copper waterline is broken

Hi .. there should be piping connectors at each end of the tubing. I would disconnect those connectors andtake them to the building supply store and get new fittings and a new supply hose. The new hose does not need to be copper,. you do not need to cut the existing fittings off the wall or the fridge, the new fittings, or new hose can connect directly to the old fittings. my tool of choice is a pair of crescent wrenches

How do i connect water to my refrigerator

I'm assuming that you have a water and ice dispenser in the door. OK, The simplest and quickest way to do this is to go to a home improvement store such as The Home Depot, and buy an water/ice maker tube installation kit. This kit includes: 15 feet of 1/4 tubing, the 2 brass fittings you'll need, and a water filter. Once you get this kit, there will be instructions on how to assemble the brass nut and ferrel fittings. Then you'll have to find the water valve on the back of the fridge, usually it's on the lower right hand corner if your'e facing the back of the fridge. If you don't see it,you may have to pull back the little cardboard tab to expose it. Now hook up the hose kit you just bought to the valve on the fridge and then hook up the other end of the hose to house water valve. Then turn on the water and you are ready to go. NOTE: If your house doesn't have a valve already, then you'll have to buy a kit that you install under your kitchen sink, this kit has a piercing valve that you connect to you cold water side copper 3/8 tubing. If you don't have copper tubing visible, then you'll have to buy a 3-way (T) and just install it under your sink.

Where to get pipe to plumb in fridge freezer need 10 metres

If you mean pipe that connects to the ice maker, you will need to go to a Lowes, Home Depot, hardware store, or plumbing supply and ask for 1/8 in copper pipe or simply "copper tubing for an icemaker"
That size tubing comes in short rolls but you will need enough to make at least one loop so that you can connect your redrigerator and then push it back into place--I would say roughly 8 to 10 feet, depending on how much room you have. I am assuming that your home is already roughed in for an icemaker where you will be putting your refrigerator. If not you will need to call the plumber.

Water leak at filter

I had this with a Kitchenaid Superba and wanted to get rid of the filter holder assembly entirely as I have an undersink unit which serves the fridge. I removed the plastic line (nut) at the back of the fridge (which led to the filter holder at the front) where the flexible copper tubing inserted (this was a 3/8' compression fitting-plastic) and also the returning line (1/4" copper compression nut on a plastic line) at the manifold (again in the back of the fridge) where it gets split between the water line and the ice line. I then just connected the 1/4" flexible copper directly to the manifold (1/4" nut, compression sleeve, male-male connector) using a pre-made 1/4" flexible compression line. Sounds complicated but after seeing how the water routes it was fairly quick work.

Bad water & ice cube taste

Hello redwood City
Welcome

You said,
Your Kitchenaid Superba KSRG25FKBL15 has bad tasting water and ice cubes. You replaced the copper tubing which delivers the water to the fridge and that didn't help. You replaced the copper tubing again with plastic tubing...no better. Any suggestions? Your tap water doesn't taste this bad.You bought a Kenmore french door fridge with water dispenser in the door in July 2008. The fridge has a filter. A few weeks after the fridge came the water and ice started tasting really bad, unlike any bad water taste I have ever tasted. And your tap water is fine. The bad taste appears to be random. Sometimes you get a cup full of nasty water and sometimes it tastes fine.

First you must know you have a 1 year warranty and can have them come out to fix anything, no charge. If it persists. You will have to get tough and you , MUST INSIST THEY REPLACE YOUR FRIDGE

When installing the water line these were a part of the directions!
Did you do this before connecting the water line to your fridge?
"Place the free end of the tubing in a container or sink, and
turn ON the main water supply. Flush the tubing until water is
clear. Turn OFF the shutoff valve on the water pipe. Coil the
copper tubing."

Whirlpool remedy
Off-taste, odor or gray color in the ice
1.Are the plumbing connections new, causing discolored or
off-flavored ice? Discard the first few batches of ice.
2.Have the ice cubes been stored too long? Throw old ice
away and make a new supply.
3.Does the freezer and ice storage bin need to be cleaned?
See “Cleaning” or “Ice Maker and Storage Bin.”
4.Has food in the freezer or refrigerator been wrapped
properly? Use airtight, moisture-proof packaging to help
prevent odor transfer to stored food.
5.Does the water contain minerals (such as sulfur)? A filter
may need to be installed to remove the minerals.
6. Is there a water filter installed on the refrigerator? Gray or
dark discoloration in ice indicates that the water filtration
system needs additional flushing. Run additional water
through the water dispenser to flush the water filtration
system more thoroughly (at least 2 to 3 gal. [8 to 12 L] or 6 to
7 minutes initially). Discard discolored ice.

Let me know what works,
Thank You ,
HUUUM!!
