Question about Jenn-Air JDR8895AAS Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

2 Answers

I have a Jenn-Air slide-in range with a gas top and electric oven. I have tried to clean the gas grates without much success. I have also tried to clean my white exhaust cover for the down-draft. It has become discoloured with use. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wonder if I can put the grates in the oven while it self-cleans. Would it do any harm?

I would NOT recommend putting grates in oven while self cleaning, dont even leave the racks in there!!!! ammonia supposedly cleans them pretty good, get yourself a plastic garbage bag and a measuring cup full of ammonia. place the grates in the bag and stand the cup up in the bag with them, close the bag and place on the back stoop over night. the FUMES do all the heavy work you rinse off under the sink.DO NOT pour over the grates but stand up the cup next to them.make sue to seal the bag as well!!!

Jenn-Air model svd48600. Gas stove top, electric oven. Why would the exhaust fan turn itself on whe either of the left burners is lit.

The switch for the optional grill attachment is activating...pull the tray/pan on the left side that holds the two burner grates toward the front...it should shut off. To correct the problem permanently, you'll need to adjust the position of the switch. The switch gets lose over time and slides on its mount until it gets out of range. The purpose of the switch is to activate the blower continuously when using the optional grill accessory. When you remove the left-side grates and the tray/pan the grates set in...you'll notice a protruding piece of metal on the front of tray/pan that fits into a hole in the cavity where the tray sits. Inside that hole is the switch that is out of position. Getting at the switch to adjust its position is not difficult, but you need to remove the upper front panel...KLS

My Jenn-Air SVE47100 slide in electric range does

Obviously it does not work fine. The thermostat sensor or the stat itself could be an issue. Can you see the sensor 'bulb'? Clean it with oven degreaser and steelwool. What is the temp in the oven with a 'oven thermometer'? Is this consistent with the oven readout?

Spray them w/ oven cleaner, put them in a plastic trash bag, and let them sit overnight. They should clean up w/ minimal scrubbig.

Try turning the oven tempurature all the way to the right (past clean). That is what unlocks mine.

If the top units and oven only get barely warm you have a loose connection on one leg of the 240 volt maybe where the line enters range.
