Question about Whirlpool MH3184XP Microwave Oven
We had a bad storm and all of a sudden the fan turned on in my whirlpool microwave and I went to turn the fan off and noticed that the child lock safety feature was turned on and the word sensor was showing. I don't know how to turn it off. My microwave won't work because it's in lock mode! I tried everything, even holding down the off button for 5 seconds but nothing is working! Help!
The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.
The manual says to turn it on or off, hold the Cancel button for 5 seconds until you hear the tones.
If you still have trouble after that, the surge may have done some damage, even though the unit has built-in surge protection.
