Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer


Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

if this fails to fix the problem

It could be a problem with the lens you could use a liquid type lens cleaner place 2-3 drops on top of a cd/dvd then run it if this fails you might try cleaning the lens it's already gone bad there is no harm in trying If you take a little risk can solve . follow the instruction: Don't panic its very simply. 1. When running your pc , open the drawer.> 2. switch off the ac power 3. remove power cable & sata or pata cable 4. remove all the screw from the back side 5. press clip to open the font panel 6. reverse the cd/dvd rw 7. just remove the cover 8. clean the optical lance 9. use a little( not much )oil place on two steel shaft 10.cover all the equipment 11.now you can fit to your pc Ifit does the same problem please change the cd/dvd rw because the lance has defected

99% of the time it is a failed laser. Time to replace that drive, especially when you know the disc works in other machines.

1. ensure drive is recognized by the BIOS (It should be ID'd by model in BIOS
2. If drive is seen normally in bios, then try the fixit utility in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
3. See if you can boot to the drive using your Vista DVD and run a repair my computer from DVD
4. If none of the above works, replace the drive. If system will boot to DVD, then reinstall Vista

rub the screen gently at the end of the line (both sides that is top and bottom) the line will disapper but it may come in near future

How to Install a Replacement Keyboard on Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop Computer You may need:

• New keyboard


• Screwdriver

---Be careful to not break off any of the plastic tabs on the keys as they are difficult to replace.---

1. Turn the computer off and slide the tip of the screwdriver in the notch on the right side of the hinge cover (the plastic section above the keyboard). Slide the hinge cover up and remove it from the computer, exposing a series of bolts. Unscrew the bolts and remove them.
2. Pull up on the edge of the keyboard and slide it forward toward the display. Slide the keyboard all the way out of the computer case slowly.
   
3. Unhook the flex cable from the computer board to disconnect it from the computer.
4. Slide the new keyboard into place, connecting the flex cable first.
   
5. Screw down the edge of the keyboard with the 4 bolts from before and replace the key cover.
6. Power up the computer and see how your new keyboard works!
