I purchased it in August of 2007 and had it set up with a SSID name and Web 10 digit incription code. This morning March 8th 2008 I went to get on the internet and the router was dead. All I have is a green power light and nothing else. I have reset it several times hoping to get it to work and had not luck at all. I tried to reset to factory default and as far as I can tell nothing has resest. Any Suggestions?

I could not get the router to do anything. that was the whole issue. If i unplugged for about an hour and was able to load the new firmware updates and that did not fix the problem. I reset it off and on for two days and gave up trying to fix it. I happend to find the reciept and had time left to return it and so I did and replace it with a different model. Thanks for trying.

I returned the router to Bestbuy and purchased a different model.
Is your modem functioning properly? Are all the lights on the modem as they are normally? Can you access your router with your browser - normally you would enter 192.168.0.1?
After doing a reset on the router, check ip address of your pc. If pc is getting 192.168.x.x, that means that the dhcp server of the router is still functioning.
You can do a FIRMWARE UPGRADE ON YOUR ROUTER.
You can contact Netgear tech support so they can look at this also.
Good Day
