I have a driver that works with XP if you want it, I uploaded it here for you.
http://rapidshare.com/files/98038771/Setup.rar
When you click the link or paste the link in to the browser address bar you will get a page with 2 buttons at the bottom.
Click the Free button. The next page has a timer that counts down. It's about 0.6mins
When it's finished you can enter the 4 figure code with the cats and dogs on it. Then click the Download via button.
When it's finished you will have to extract the main file with Winrar. If you don't have it you can download the trial version and that will do it.
Download here:
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe

Hope it helps.

Hi,

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How to install external web cam to my loptop

If you have Vista or Windows 7, most web cams will auto install. Simply plug them in and reboot. Some even install right away - again if one of the operating systems, then go to start/devices and printers/ then double click on the new web cam icon to test. if older XP or other, then you will need the driver. You did not specify the make model so I cannot provide a link to the correct software. If new item, it should have a CD that will autoinstall on insert.

If installing for Skype or MSN - you will need to enable through their tools /Options menus. and test

Good luck!

AIPTEK Dv8800 Driver malfunction? Answer

  1. aiptek web site has a driver solution for vista users I had same problem but with Win XP it keep seeing it as a flash drive .... I uninstalled drivers and re-installed them,- same error, then uninstalled again and removed the USB from device manager uninstalled direct X cause it was the newest version, then install everything from scratch without turning the camera on then try again and nothing, finally I turn to the manual and somewhere says "if you need to use it as web cam then press the menu button on the camera and select camara!!! as soon as I did that and additional port found in windows was detected and installed automatically then I got my video and microfono up and running. So easy right, but like always the software CD is missing the manuals too and people do not read. LOL .....

Can't use VPC-CG9 as PC camera.

I don't know why this wouldn't work on Vista HP, but this excerpt from the manual suggests that your XP SP1 Pro would not work without the SP2 rollup:

"Please perform the following upgrades before connecting the camera to a computer.
-Upgrade Windows XP to SP2.
Install Windows XP SP2.
-Install Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version.
Download Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version, and install it.
-If using MSN Messenger, please install MSN Messenger 7.0 or later
version."

Perhaps if you are following the steps exactly in the manual and it still does not work, upgrading Messenger will magically help.

How to download the picture from camera to computer?

Get the right size of USB cord (the end that goes to the cam come in different sizes, so take note of that - i.e., the cam USB port are dfferent sizes).
For a Mac, I don't know. For Windows XP, it should show up as a drive in "My Computer." Vista may have drivers for it, so it could show up as a drives. Either way, you may have the original driver CD that came with the camera. You may try that if you have Windows XP. Windows Vista may give you some trouble.

Software download

Highclass

You can download the drivers from http://support.creative.com

Also note if you are running Windows XP or higher you do not need the software to get the pictures off the camera (I have one my self and it works fine on my Windows XP and Windows 7 computers).

It is possible that the drive letter that the camera wants to use by default is assigned to another device. The links below will help you reassign a drive letter to the camera.
