It really depends on where you live? Any where's from $50.00 to $280.00 a hour... It depends on how much they need the work. I work on almost every make & model copier, but Xerox. I can do it for you....

The Staple Sorter feeder has stopped working. The copier works fine but it becomes jammed when it reaches the staple sorter. Remove the sorter and the pages come out.

if you have blower, air blown the whole sorter unit it could be there is a sensor that was dirty or contaminated by dust. hope this will help

Sharp sf 2540 code F1

The F1 error code -- lost communication with the sorter. Are there secondary numbers after the F1?
Check connector cables on sorter and machine, check power to sorter. If those are fine then you are looking at a board problem. Also make sure that all covers are close properly. *** check cover between the sorter and machine*** ( you may have to pull sorter away from machine).

A question about the feeder

thank you for the complement and for trying to help with your project.

Can a sorter be used ?
Let's see: it seems that you are planning on modifying it to fit your needs.
-changing the bins to container type.
-moving them horizontally

The bins in the sorter are on two cams on each side of the machine that are syncronized.
each bin has a protruding pin on each side that goes into the cams to move it up and down.
sorters were made for vertical movement, to take apart and lay it horizontal.............................

I'm having a difficult time seeing the way you would do all of these without having to re-design the whole system.
as for the electrical part I'm sure if you have the schematics you could by pass and make a board to simulate the signals you need to make it work.

The idea is good, but unless you are willing to re-engineer the whole thing I can't see how it would be more beneficial to you.

Give me a feedback and we'll explore more options.

Toshiba 3550 Document Feeder

1- you've already established that the jamming is coming from the sorter, since you said they jam as they exit the copier into the sorter bin.
2- check to see if the sorter is aligned, is one side higher than the other? is it crooked? are the wheels of the sorter turning as the paper exits the copier, is it plugged into the copier? does it show "connect sorter" when detached from copier?
if not the sorter board may be bad.It may need to be aligned ( not easy if not used to doing.)
