Constant standby mode on philips DVD player

Hi Johnny
Please follow these steps (even if you are sure you have done them correctly :)
1) Check if something is blocking the path between the remote and the IR sensor on the DVD player.
2) Check your remote control batteries to make sure you have fresh batteries inside(try with new ones to be sure)
3) Make sure that you have inserted the batteries according to the polarity that is instructed.
4) Remove all the cables but the power supply and try to see if it works. If it does you have some faulty cable which should be replaced.
5) At last if none of the above points helps then either your DVD equipment or the remote control is faulty. You may contact your vendor demanding you guaranty wright or a service shop for diagnose and repair.
Finally , please don't forget to rate my post.
Wish you best of luck.
Best Regards

Everytime I put a disc in I get an error saying no disc

Does the disc you insert are original..If not is isn't posibbles for your dvd player to not recognize yor disc cause most of the branded dvd players like you have didn't read pirated disc..but if the disc you insert is original. Try to clean your dvd player using a dvd disc cleaner.

Hi i have a problem with my philips dvp5982 when i put a dvd sometimes it is ok but sometimes says no disk does any know what should i do?

Clean your dvd player's lens using a lens cleaner. You can purchase it through your local workshops. If you don't have lens cleaner, remove thecover of the player and dismantle the upper assembly that protects the lens. Make sure that the unit is unplugged before doing this to avoid any laser burns. Clean the lens using a cotton buds with a drop of alcohol. CAUTION :DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS WITH YOUR FINGER.

- Go to the right to select "Preference"
- Press 1,3,8,9,3,1
- Press up or down to scroll through the regions; select "0" for completely region-free.
- Then press "menu" to exit.

What is a region code 2 dvd player

Most of the DVDs available in India mostly use Region 2, Region 4 and Region 5 codes, all together in one DVD.

Education on region dvd codes:

If you want something on the cheaper side try a Philips DVP5982 Multi-Region DVD Player.

hope that helps!

Remote Control for Philips DVP 320 DVD Player.

I guess, the easiest way to go is to get an universal remote control and try codes from the provided list until you run into a working one. Many universal remotes have a mode when you can try to click tens or hundreds time on a button (like UP button) until it accepts the code.
