i am having the same problem with the HD-A2KU hd dvd player not recognizing any of the codes. it seems that the dvd player does recognize the codes but will not control the player. when i click the on off button the dvd player changes to a word but does not turn it off or control it.

Go into the menu options for the player, and switch to Bitstream! Not PCM
