SC680 is a communication error, usually relating to the chip on the toner cartridge. Check that it is clean and that the electical connection is properly made when the cartridge is in place. It can result from a wiring error, but that is much less likely, and a failure of the BCU board - even less likely. Hope that helps.

Make sure that the duplux option is enable on your windows print setting?

There are no SC 680 codes listed in the service manual for a 2045e
Please re check the code

The machine has a problem reading the memory chip on the toner.

Check if the chip is not lose or damaged or durty
Check the harnass or the chip reader and pins and clean.
Replace toner

after replacing the toner and the problem is still there you can do a engine clear.
