Assistance needed. Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5600 laptop and I would like to restore it back to factory settings. The problem is I don't have my CD where I created my backup files. Is there any other way I can do make it back to factory settings? Please help :) Thank you.

Yes you can get it back to your original factory setting.
You have to use the System Recovey Disk. It may be deliver with your laptop or, generally some companies are storing it on D: drive. You shuld better know where it is. Just go there and run the recovey it will get your system back event partitions and softwares as originally shiped by company.

If you can't find please search on your company website using your 'Service Tag No.'

Thanks
Iqbal

I DONT KNOW HOW TO RESTORE MY ACER BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop. A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop. It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature. You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard. Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

How do i restore my laptop 560 to factory settings

Normally you would have to hit a F1 thru F12 key when you start the machine. Sometimes there might be a recovery listed in the programs list for acer products. Click Start/Programs and see if there is a recovery.

I need to know how to reset my acer aspire 6930 to factory settings!!!!!

A slightly different model requires pressing Alt+F10 at the start up and following the prompts. This will wipe the hard drive though, so back up everything important first. You can probably still get the data even if it doesn't boot Windows.

I need to reset my acer aspire 5520 to factory settings without recovery discs

Hi,

There is a recovery console on your HDD (Hard Disk Drive) this is a hidden partition on your HDD. If you power on your laptop and hold the ALT key and keep tapping the F10 key while it posts to the acer logo screen it will goto a black screen with a flashing cursor on the top left then stop tapping F10 and remove your finger from the ALT key, you will then see windows loading files. This will take you to the recovery console and from there you can select restore laptop to factory defaults or restore laptop retaining user data.

Hope this helps

Restore aspire 5610

Hi Fentylfc,

  • Click "Start" menu.

  • Click "Programs."

  • Click "Acer Recovery Management."
  • Click the "Restore" button on the bottom of the dialog box that opens.
  • Click "Restore System to Factory Default."
  • Click "Yes" in the warning dialog box which asks if you wish to continue the recovery process.
  • Click "Start" to restore the computer to the default factory settings
  • If you are unable to access the Start menu, use the recovery CDs that came with the computer and always make a back-up CD before restoring a computer to factory defaults. Good Luck...

    Restore and recovery
The restore and recovery features allow you to restore or recover the system
from a factory default image, from a user created image, or from previously
created CD and DVD backups. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for
    your Acer system.
1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 Switch to the restore and recovery page by selecting the Restore button.
3 Select the backup point you would like to restore from. You can also
choose to recover the system from a factory default image, recover from a
previously created CD/DVD or reinstall applications and drivers.
4 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process

Sounds like the OS is currupt and you will need to boot with your restore cd which you received with your system, and set everything to factory default.
    Good Luck.
