The rev limiter is not a part, it is built into the programming of the computer that runs the electronic fuel injection, some of the more popular performance cars can be programmed to change the rev limiter paremeters with after market software and modules but not this one, no one makes anything for this yet.

Okay your Impala at idle the rev limiter kicks in at 4500 RPM right? Well I discovered that if you are driving the car (easier with a floor shifter) and you go from drive to nuetral and step on the gas timely your car will rev up to 6500 RPM. I found this out when I was driving during cruise nite. See the computer is kind of slow. When your in drive the engine will go up or pass 6500 RPM. When you are just slightly moving your car in drive and you kick it into nuetral then step on the gas the computer still thinks the car is in drive. So you get to hear it roar!!

I need help with my 02 Infiniti G20 it starts up fine just has really bad idle and can't rev past 2500rpms

Will it rev up when you are out on the highway? If so, newer cars have a rev limiter to protect the engine if you are not driving the car. If you have an electronic throttle sensor, it may be bad. Scanning the obdll system will give you that information.

96 3.1 rev limiter at 2900 -3000rpm. Went through vaccume sys. Comp.coil assy.egr. tps.cam and crank sensors test good. Correct fuel pressure running and not. Maf is responsive, anything im missing?

The rev limiter is built into the PCM. If the vehicle will not get past the RPMS you have indicated and all sensors test good, check for a plugged exhaust system. The catalytic converter could be restricted/plugged. You can remove the front 02 sensor ( which will allow the exhaust to breath somewhat better ) and see if the vehicle will come up in RPM. IF it does, suspect a plugged exhaust.

Remove rev limiter

To remove the rev limiter, you must have your engine control computer reprogrammed, so that means that you will have to take it to the dealer and have their techs reprogram it to your specs.

No power full throttle u only rev to 2 grand that it can u help me

The cars computer has a rev limiter built in so a no load rev is about 2 grand. but driving the car it should reach 4800 rpms or 5600 rpms if not then install a vacuum gauge on a intake manifold port normal readings should be 16 inches or more at idle then drive car as you accelerate to a higher speed this should drop slightly once at full throttle is will read almost zero if below that then the exhaust has a restriction.

Rev limiter

You'd probably have to get a reprogrammed or chipped engine computer. Removing the rev limiter though is a sure fire way to destroy your engine. Even Ferraris and Porches have rev limiters.

Removal of a cv joint from the gear box of a 2002 impala

The easiest way is to rent an inner axle shaft removal tool. You should be able to from a local parts supplier.
