Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer

2 Answers

Dryer runs but doesn't heat up when sttings call for heat.

Sears Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer Model #110.60932990. Replaced the heat element and the Thermal Cut-Off aand thermostat. Cleaned inside and out for Lint Build-up incluing front lint trap housing and rea exhaust. All this still no heat.

Unit runs on 210-220 circuit breaker, not the problem.

Where to go from here. Spent $100.00 on parts, still no satisfaction!

My Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer also does not heat, but still tumbles. It was purchased brand new 6 years ago. What do you suggest? I hate to buy a new one, and I don't want to go through all the effort the other poster did, just to have it not work for me as well. Thank you.

Our Kenmore Elite HE3 model# 110.82822101 runs.. but there is no heat. How do we fix this?

My kenmore dryer is only 4 years old and also has no heat. I spent a good amount of money of this dryer and it has been nothing but a problem. Had it "serviced" 4 times by Sears and now I think my solution to this latest problem is the curb! I will not buy another Kenmore brand appliance again!

You may need to do some troubleshooting. This can be done with the machine unplugged - you may have to activate the start switch, belt switch (if it has one) and the motor centrifugal switch manually.
Tip for troubleshooting 220v systems - clip one lead of a ohm meter to either L1 or L2 on the terminal block. It doesn't matter which one. According to the tech sheet (under console) follow the path for current from your clipped terminal, through the heating element, to the opposite terminal. All the readings should be less than 100 ohms, until you reach the failed part. Confirm failure by disconnecting a lead from the suspected part, and test only that part.

Live troubleshooting is sometimes slightly easier, but much more dangerous than the procedure described above. - It is definitely not recommended for beginners, or for professionals, if it can be avoided.

Kenmore 100.85081400 no heat

check the thermal fuse on the blower housing if its open some units wont heat, also check the heating element if heated electrically,or the ignitor on gas fired units,by the number you provided i believe you meant its a 110.85081400 instead of the 100.85081400 (and is electrically heated) you provided which is produced by whirlpool for sears (kenmore) also there is a control board located inside behind the control panel that may be a culprit, but check the first two things i suggested at the top

My Kenmore Elite dryer is not heating up. Is there a coil that I can change? If so where is the coil located?

Check the heater element and thermal fuses for continuety.
Go to Sears.com and enter you dryer model, then go to parts description, enter heater, and from that you can go to the diagram of where the elemnt is.

No heat in my kenmore elite dryer, model 11085872401(electric)everything else running, tested voltage at 240 ok. pulled the heating element. it looks like a small crack in the middle. Does that have any...

It means your element needs to be replaced, take it to the Kenmore parts store nearest you, and they will confirm that, and you can get a new one there unless they have to order one in.
Be sure to have the make and model and serial number of your dryer with you.

Kenmore elite , no heat

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

My Dryer Will Not Warm Up Or Heat Up At All!!!

Hope this info helps, ps don't forget to give me a rating thanks!!

For an electric dryer that runs but doesn’t heat, follow this repair roadmap:
Flip the circuit breaker off and then back on. Electric dryers run on a two-pole, 240v breaker. A common problem is for one of the legs to break which cuts the 240v that the elements need to heat up but it still supplies the 120v for the motor. The result is that the dryer runs but doesn’t heat.
If the breaker checks out, then it’s time to do some surgery. Unplug the dryer and open it up.
. Use your ohm meter to test the thermostats. All should show continuity.
Measure the resistance of the heating element with your ohm meter. Normal readings are in the neighborhood of 30 ohms.
In rare cases, the centrifugal switch in the motor can fail which breaks the power circuit for the heating elements. If this is the case, then the entire motor must be replaced since the centrifugal switch is built into the motor.
