First off, I'm running Vista if that matters. The router worked in the past but I have just relocated. I also do not have the install disk and while troubleshooting I had trouble tracking down the drivers. Belkin's website said I need those first before I can get fully set up. Otherwise, it's the same problem as eyes.

I have the same problem. I recently relocated (about 2 weeks ago) and as of Sunday night, I had an internet connection. When I logged in on Monday morning, I was unable to find a webpage - yet my router is showing as connected. If i unhooked my router and connected directly to my modem, I was able to connect to the internet with no problems. Even when the router was unhooked last night, it showed as being connect on my computer (which makes me think it's a computer issue, not a router issue). Should I uninstall/reinstall the router to try to correct the issue?

I have the same problem. I have never had a problem with my router before (I have a wireless laptop with Vista - purchased Nov 07), and the router is about 2.5 years old (from the pics on the website, the model looks like the F5D7230-4 series). I moved into a new location about 2 weeks ago, and everything was fine. Then Monday morning when I went to login, it got the same error 'server can not be found'. Yet, it shows that I am connect to the internet via my router. I am not sure of the wireless adapter on the computer (sorry... it is a Toshiba Satellite computer... again only 1yr old). When I connect directly to the modem, I have no problems connecting to the internet, but not through the router. (I was unable to check to see if i could connect via wire through the router as I did not have an extra cable available at the time).

My wireless connection worked before but now does not. The network is up and I can connect to it but it is not connected to the internet. My main computer wont connect when the router is connected either. Windows Xp on main computer and Windows vista on laptop.

After firmware upgrade can't get router to connect to internet

Hello,
Connect your computer directly to your cable or DSL modem. If you see a log-in screen for your Internet Service Provider, make a note of the user name and password. Unplug your router and your cable or DSL modem. Plug your modem to your Belkin router's "WAN" port. Connect your computer to one of your Belkin router's numbered ports. Turn on in your modem and wait 10 seconds. Plug in your router and restart your computer. Select "Start," then "Control Panel" and then "Network Connections." Right-click "Local Area Connection" to bring up your network connection properties. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)," then "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" and then "Obtain DNS Server Addresses Automatically. Open your web browser. If you are prompted for a user name and password, enter the information you recorded in Step 1.

Belkin 54g Router won't connect to internet.

If you can access the configuration page of your belkin router you have to copy the MAC address of your computer to the router. The router has the capability to clone the MAC address. It's because if you have a cable internet connection the MAC address is registered in the server.

According to Belkin, here's how to do it:
Begin by clicking Windows Logo > Control Panel.
Click Network and Internet.
Click on Network & Sharing Center.
Click the name of the connection you wish the edit, to the right of Connections.
Click Properties.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
Click the radio button next to Use the following DNS server addresses:. This will allow you to enter the DNS server addresses.
The DNS addresses are as follows:
Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
Click OK on each of the windows and close the Control Panel. Your computer is now configured to use statically assigned DNS server addresses.

Wirless router

nope...
your desktop can also go onlie using the wireless belkin router,so this router will now act as a distributor, you need to setup the router between the modem and the computer that is wired,i hope that when you say modem it is the one provided to you by your internet service provider, what you need to do is to conect the modem to the router and the router to you desktop computer, you desktop computer will go online using the wired connection to the belkin rotuer and you laptops will use the wireless connection..

Server cannot see wireless workgroup machines but shares Internet

Disable any firewalls on the machine like Windows firewall or any other firewall like Norton, McAfe, ZoneAlarm and something like that. Or if you have firewall policies or access rules, you must enable the sharing there.

Sharing a connection with wired and wireless computers

i just have a question, do you have an internet connection when your computer connected to your modem(the device provided by your Internet Service Provider)? Possible that the Belkin not working is that maybe you don't have internet from ypur ISP.

I suggest you to connect your computer first to the modem, turn off the pc and afterwards the modem, after 2 minutes, turn on the modem first, when all lights stable, turn on the pc and check if you can go online. If not, better contact your ISP first for them to check the connection. If everything working fine with your ISP. Reply to this post again and provide the following information.

Your ISP?
Brand of the Modem?
Brand of the Belkin Router?
Type of Connection you have form ISP, DSL or CABLE?
If DSL, please make sure that you have a username and password from your ISP?
How many computers do you have?
What is the Windows Version your using or the Operating System?

Thanks.
