Xerox printer error

I have a xerox 7700 laser printer. It told me to replace the belt cleaner assembly, so I did. Now it tells me to 'replace the belt cleaner assembly soon.' ? Any help would be much appreciated

You must manually reset the Belt Cleaner life after replacing the belt cleaner.

Resetting Belt Cleaner Life

  • Resetting the belt cleaner life is to be performed only if the Belt Cleaner Assembly was defective and or the assembly is replaced before an end of life or near end of life message. Not to extend the life of the assembly. Doing so may cause premature failure of other internal printer components.

  • The printer will prompt the user to reset the life counts if the assembly is replaced after receiving a Replace Belt Cleaner Assembly or Replace Belt Cleaner Assembly Soon message.
xerox printer error - note_image33x30.gif    Note: If the main Menu does not appear on the front panel screen and only Replace Belt Cleaner Assembly is displayed, there may be a print job that is either processing or currently printing. Try the following steps to clear the print jobs and reset the Belt Cleaner life:
  1. Press the cancel button several times to flush processing jobs from the printer.

  2. If you do not receive access to the front panel menu by doing this, then power off the printer and disconnect Ethernet, parallel or USB cable from the printer.

  3. Turn the printer back on, and while it is powering up, immediately start pushing the cancel key repeatedly until you receive access to the front panel menu.

  4. If the printer menu appears on the front panel screen, follow the instructions below to reset the Belt Cleaner life if the printer didn't prompt you to reset it:


  1. With Menus highlighted press OK.

  2. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Supplies Info Menu.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Exit at the bottom of the menu tree.

  5. Now scroll up to Reset Belt Cleaner Life
  6. .
  7. Press OK.

  8. Reset Belt Cleaner Life NOW is displayed.

  9. Press OK to reset the belt cleaner life.

Problem:
Not able to make test prints in diagnostics mode because the printer is showing Replace Fuser or Belt Cleaner. These messages only show when in diagnostics mode. Cause:
The engine board needs to have its CRU life counters reset in diagnostics mode. Solution: xerox printer error - thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Enter diagnostics mode and enter the NVRAM Access menu. Select Reset CRU Life Counters. When you get to the bottom of the menu it will ask "Reset Life Counters?" Select YES. Then select the individual CRUs that were giving a Replace message and reset their life counters. When done, exit diagnostics and perform a Power OFF Power ON (POPO) cycle. Note: the resets are not fully completed until the POPO is completed. This will clear the Replace Fuser message and a false Replace Belt Cleaner message that shows in diagnostics mode. It will not clear the counters for the customer's life counters. Note: the Belt Cleaner Assembly reset for the customer's life counter is found in the customer's menus: Information, Supplies Info, Reset Belt Cleaner Life Assembly Life. The customer reset for the Fuser is done automatically by installing a new fuser. The printer will detect the three new fuses on the fuser and will automatically take care of it from there.

Xerox 7700 laser printer paper bin full however there is no paper there.


The bin full sensor is probably defective or has paper dust in it blocking the light beam. Try blowing out the sensor with canned air. If that doesn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the exit transport assembly. Hello, I have a xerox 7700 dx machine. Since moving the machine to new premises, when turning it on, I receive the error message, "Error 30 accumulator belt home position took too long" and it doesn't...


The error is caused by the home sensor for the accumulator belt not finding the home position of the belt. Since the error occured after a move, toner probably contaminated the sensor. Use canned air and blow out the sensor. Manual @: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/Phaser_7700_Service_Manual.pdf

Error 11, laser unit polygon motor failure. If this fault reoccurs 3 times successively the 7700 . enter diagnostics and clear tech rep fault and clear this 09-380, 09-383.

There is a Transparency sensor (called the OHP) which is part of the Registration Transport 116-1164-00

Clean it first. Or replace the whole assembly

Hy the problem is: You have to clean the 2nd BTR and the transfer belt cleaner. There is a large amount of used toner on those things.

try this
The following functions will generate a Tech Rep Fault:
  • Error: 30: Belt Home Too long
  • Errors: 12, 13, 14, 15: ATC-YMCK Sensor Fail
  • Errors: 40, 44: Fuser Main/Sub Lamp Temp Too High
  • Enter Service Diagnostics
  • Highlight NVRAM Access and press OK
  • Highlight Clear Tech Rep Faults and press OK
  • Highlight the Tech Rep fault to be cleared and press OK


If you have had the error 3 consecutive times , you do need to send the snippet to the printer to clear the error. The instructions how to do it are in the download.
Other things. You may need to replace the accumulator belt.
You may have toner backed up in the waste auger, you can clean that out and replace the waste bottle.
Cause:
The plastic tab attached to the cleaning blade assembly was broken, this tab opens the cleaning blade waste assembly when the belt is lowered .
Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. The waste toner from accumulator belt cleaner could not reach the waste bin and jammed the augur. This caused the grinding noise by stalling the accumulator belt motor. This causes an error 30 code to be displayed.
The belt cleaner does come as a separate part 016-1889-00 and is very easy to fit and much cheaper than a new belt assembly.
Error 30 is a Tech Rep fault. After three Error 30's, the NVRAM Clear Tech Rep Faults will need to be reset to be able clear the Error 30 message.

Phaser 7700 Accumulator Belt Replaced, upon startup there is an error


POSSIBILITIES

Problem:
1st BTR Contact Failure or 1st BTR Retract Failure Message is displayed after replacing the Accumulator Belt Cause:
A Phaser 7700 Accumulator Belt was installed in a Phaser 7750. The Phaser 7700 Accumulator Belt does not have retractable 1st Bias Transfer Rollers; so these errors will be reported if one is installed in a Phaser 7750 printer. Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Remove the Phaser 7700 Accumulator Belt and install a Phaser 7750 Accumulator Belt. TRY FIRST (Solutions without parts):
1. Check that all shipping restraits have been removed.



TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS AND HINTS:
1. Test the 1st BTR motor in diagnostics to verify proper operation. 2. Test the 1st BTR sensor in diagnostics, then run the 1st BTR motor test and recheck the 1st BTR sensor. Sensor state should alternate between L and H. The sensor is part of the accumulator belt.

REPAIR/INSPECT/PREVENT PROCEDURE:
1. Clean feed rollers, exit rollers and guides; replace if
necessary.
2. Clean feed rollers and exit rollers only when dust or
debris is visible.
3. Remove and clean all paper trays.
4. Clean the Laser Scanner Unit window.
5. Inspect the image density sensors; clean if necessary.
6. Inspect the accumulator belt home sensor; clean if
necessary.
7. Inspect the fuser assembly; clean if necessary.
8. Print the Error Log, diagnose and repair any problems as
indicated.
9. Print the Usage Profile, diagnose and repair any
problems as indicated.
10. Check version of all installed firmware; as
appropriate, install the latest version of firmware.
11. Check cleanliness of interior and exterior of printer,
including fans; if necessary, clean (dust or vacuum) these
areas.

Printer gives me Error 10 - laser unit
