Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

Kodak CX7430 can only take 10 pictures with a new battery

I am wondering why Kodak CX7430 can only take 10 pictures with a new battery. This has made a big trouble when I am going abroad for visiting. Is this a design problem for Kodak digital camera? Camera batteries lose their charge quickly. I have been using rechargeble batteries and changer to no avail? I have trouble turning my camera on. When I turn it on, it doesn't come on but the little red light(that turns green when the camera is on) flashes. I have to turn the camera off, pop out the batteries, put them back in, & then sometimes the camera will come on but not always. I've put brand new batteries in it & made sure it stays on the dock to be charged & kept it off the dock with the batteries out to see if that helps...NOTHING! I don't even bother trying to pics.

Chances are that the problem is corroded battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and clean the inside contacts with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. Remove any residue that's in the camera from the cleaning, then reinstall your batteries. Hopefully this will cure the problem and get the camera back up and working the way it should.

If that doesn't do the trick, you might want to try your luck with the Kodak Troubleshooting guide at:

Remove the batteries and clean the battery contacts inside the camera
with a soft cloth (a heavy buildup on the contacts may require cleaning
with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue
that the cleaning leaves in the camera, and then reinstall the
batteries. This clears most power-on problems, but if yours persists,
check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the
camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth
(heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or
sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning.
Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then
replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it
doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

its better use Kodak battery for you Kodak camera.FYI there's a lot of brand of AA battery like energizer, duracel and also kodak.if you compare the size or the height of all battery its totally different.especially the kodak are more taller than the other.thats why if you use other brand it works only 5 shots only or less.

Kodak C180 for Xmas - The pic of the battery shows

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). The batteries that was in your pack when bought are only test batteries and not rechargeble.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.

Batteries are always dead

You need to get some decent rechargeable batteries unfortunately standard batteries are just not good enough and lose their charge very quickly not to mention end up costing you a small fortune to replace.

I recommend NiMH 2500mah recharageable batteries or better (i use Energizer). Makes sure you have another 2 sets full charged and ready to go so you dont get caught out when out and about.

If this helps, please vote...thanks and good luck!

Remove the batterty andclean the internal battery contact with an
eraser on the end of a pencil- take a flash light to look inside the compartment to enfure they are bright and clean.
Make sure the battery door and contact srip are a good tight fit
Hold the door down with a finger whilst switching on
Other than that there is little moreyou can do

Kodak CX7430 can only take 10 pictures with a new battery

Always use the best batteries you can buy. Either rechargeable or Alkaline. Do not use the cheapest, just because they cost less.
There can also be problems with the camera. This camera, I believe is a 4mpxl digital camera. It has a few years on it (about 2004), and in those years some of the digital cameras did need a lot of power to operate correctly.
My guess is that you are using cheap batteries, not the best you can buy.

IMPORTANT
We recommend that you do not use alkaline batteries in EasyShare cameras because they may cause unexpected shutdowns and loss of pictures.

Kodak V550 Camera Problems

Sounds like a new battery would do wonders. I would contact Kodak and see if hey will offer you a new battery. If not then I would go buy one. The battery is probably the most likely to go bad so fast on a camera.
