Adjust the contrast. Turn the calculator on. Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the down-arrow key for a few seconds until the screen lightens.

I think you tried to reboot it and than restore it. If that does not work you may need a trip to the Apple store or call Apple tech support.

Usually problem with the LCD backlight. Try to get it replaced under warranty with your provider. Out of warranty? = You can get the screen replaced at Blackberry repair or try to repair it yourself for free or have a friend do it using Blackberry Repair Guide.

replace the phone, that is symptomatic of a phone that has a compression crack, (sat down it was in the pocket, shut too tight, etc) There is no repair, but if you have the insurance it is covered as damage.
