Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanning a document

I have never used the "scan" feature on the HP Officejet 6110. The online owners manual is not clear to me on how to set up and use the scan feature. Can you please give me step by step instructions on how to use the scan feature? Thank you!! Dave

Hi,

The full version All-in-one software need to be installed to scan.

However, you haven't informed anything about the version of operating system that is installed in your computer. However, please follow the below given instructions to scan.

Place a document on the scanner glass and check if the USB cable is connected to the computer correctly.

Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA

2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

For Windows 2000/Me/98

Place a document on the scanner glass and check if the USB cable is connected to the computer correctly.

1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.

2.Click Start then Click Programs then Click Accessories then Click Imaging.

3.From the Imaging application, click File, and then click Select Device.

4.Select the HP all-in-one device from the TWAIN source list.

5.Click File, and then Acquire Image.

For Vista:
=======

Place a document on the scanner glass and check if the USB cable is connected to the computer correctly.

Scanning with Paint:
1. Click Windows.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Accessories.
4. Click Paint.
5. Click File and then click From Scanner or Camera.
6. Click Scan.

You can use all the above given instructions to scan.

If the full version All-in-one software is installed, please follow the instructions from the below article to get the issue resolved.

Keep getting scanning error message

How do you have the HP6110 connected to your system? This problem can sometimes be caused by using to long a cable between the computer and the multifunction printer. I would use a short cable (6 foot or less) to make sure that it's not a communications problem. This ususally manifests itself with an error message while scanning although the printing function work ok.

I was able to get my 6110 to scan by downloading HP_Installer_PSC7100_v9.7beta.dmg .  I saw this on XLR8YourMac for another HP multi-function and on a lark I decided to try it.  During the installer it won't detect the 6110, but you are able to "Skip" to the next step until it's installed.  Then, launch "HP All-in-One Device Chooser" and you will see the 6110 listed.  After I choose it there, I was able to use "HP Scan Pro" with the 6110.  I've not really tested the rest of the applications.
