Hi!!

Let's start by checking the cruise control throttle linkage cable, just follow the cable coming from the cruise control servo to the throttle linkage, were it connects. The plastic clip at the end of the cable gets britle and over time, it brakes.

Check fuse
Check for loose conections and broken wires.
The cruise control system is operated by vacuum, check vacuum hoses for cracks, loose connections and obvious leaks.

Due to the complexity of the cruise control system, this is about all you can do to fix the problem.

If you can't detect the problem, take the vehicle to an authorized service shop for diagnostic and repair.

Good Luck!!!!

Cruise controlnot working

Do you have an airbag light lit ? Are your cruise control buttons on the steering wheel . If so the clock spring could have an open circuit. A clock spring is a part inside the steering column , under the steering wheel . Check out this video on clock spring .
https://youtu.be/4jv2DW39drA if no airbag light ,then probably not this part.

Cruise control not working

You need to post the make and model of your car.

Generally if the cruise control light is on, on the dash indicator then the problem is in the steering wheel electrical connection.

Then internal wiring connecting the steering wheel cruise control switch is connected to the dash by a special wire called a clock-spring ribbon. This is located under/behind the steering wheel. It is not a self service repair item and required a good deal of expertise to repair. Sorry, but you will most likely need to take it to a qualified mechanic. Because the steering wheel also contains an airbag, do not attempt to do this repair yourself!!!

Steering wheel buttons dont work on my 2004 accord

Check the fuses and relays. Generally if only 1 accessory doesn't work, the problem is with that particular accessory. When ther are several that don't work, check fuses and relays.

Cruise control stopped working

check brake switch under dash above the brake pedal. See if sensing wires are broken . or if it uses a duplicate switch sensor check it is engaging properly. Also check you tube on possible failures.
Also in the engine bay the cable from the accelerator petal will attach to the trottle on the engine. Check for another cable at this location from the cruise control and check the cable is not broken .

Check brake globes are functioning and are not blown as well.

Cruise control shows power on but will not turn.

the most common cause of this is the rotating ribbon contact for the steering wheel switches is defective, this contact ribbon is under the steering wheel and is commonly called the clock spring contact.

MY 1989 Honda Accord had cruise control until it stopped working. I checked the Fuse. Its good, I replaced the control switch on the steering wheel. Didn't fix the problem. Then replaced the power button...

Look for the obvious. Check for the cable that goes to the throttle to see if it came off or broke. Also look for any leaks in the vacuum system. A small leak will cause it not to work. The unit may be engaging but with one of these problems, it just won't work.

Good Luck

Cruse controll

Pull up on the brake pedal. If that does not work check your brake light bulbs (LED brake lights will also keep your cruise control form working). Finally check all of the fuses. This system needs at least 3 different fuses to work properly.
