Question about Durabrand HT-3915 System

Remote Control Unit

I have a remote control unit RC-39173N for Durabrand Model HT3917, Home Theater System. The remote quit working. I checked the fuse on the woofer. It's okay. I replaced the remotes batteries. There is no obstruction between the sensor on the woofer and the remote. I have turned the unit on and off several times. The woofer controls work, but not the remote. What else could be wrong?

Same problem and did the troubleshooting with no success? What's next? Can you buy it at Walmart?

i'll add my rant to the remote control complaints here for the durabrand model ht-3915. my remote works only sporadically, this after changing batteries often, cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol. (and yes, i looked at the infra red bulb thru my video camera to check that it was functioning when a button was pressed). i've checked the electric connections, the fuse and cleaned the housing face -- all to no avail.

this is what i get for going for, i mean inexpensive!

    good luck everyone!

I see a constant light when I look through the camera. Does that mean the remote is still working and just needs a new lithium battery?

I see a constant light when I look through the camera. Does this mean the remote is fine and just needs a new lithium battery?

BTW, I tested the 3 volt battery and it still has a 2.5v charge.

Same thing JUST happened to me. :/ How does the remote even come apart, anyway? I only see one screw inside the battery compartment. Removing the screw doesn't let me open it. Is it glued shut around the perimeter? Or is it supposed to squeeze open, or perhaps it has tabs that let you slide it open?? I never wanted a remote control to work again so badly!

Get a digital camera or mobile phone with the camera and the remote, watch trough the camera the remote( aim the remote to the camera like its the sub) and start pushing buttons on the remote. If the remote is OK you'll see flashing light of its IR led on your camera display. If there is no light the remote is broken

Many modern digital cameras (including phone cameras) come with infrared filters now, so this tip won't necessarily work.

How would i go about fixing it

Bose Cinemate wont turn on. I believe the remote control is not communicating with the unit. How can we reset the remote control?

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

Hello, I need a replacement control for a Durabrand Home Theater System model HT-3917. Is there anyway I can purchase one?

OneForAll are one of the best and have a support page to assist with finding the correct code.

Look on Amazon for OneForAll Remote and find one that's the price you want to pay

Then go to their Web Site at the link below and enter the Model No of the remote you've found and follow the steps to see if its suitable.

Or you could contact them and they would advise on a suitable remote.

Remote control or universal remote that works on my durabrand home theater system 2004 model # HT 3915

The easiest thing to do would be to go to an electronics store, look on the back of the remote control package and look for Durabrand.
It should come with a booklet with the setup codes.

Thats all I got for now.

Hope that helped, good lukc, please rate.
