Foxconn945G7MA-8KS2h sound problems

I have installed a motherboard bundle from Maplins Uk.

The Foxconn board has realtek audio on it. I have installed their latest drivers. The installation program is WDM_A404. I am running Win2000. In my hardware profile it tells me the device will not start.

Having previously tried to use the drivers supplied with the board, the system said that everything was up and running. Of course no sound was coming out of the sound output channel.

I have used jumpers so as to link through the front side sound so that it sends it to the rear output as directed in the manual.

Any Ideas apart from returning the motherboard to Maplins?

Sorry should have said that I have checked the Bios at least five times.
Incidentally with the older Realtek drivers you do infact get all the windows volume controllers come up. The newer drivers just say the card can't start.

    Thanks though.

Ok spent a bit longer on the bios and reset it to auto detect for the integrated sound board. Windows has now chosen to install Microsoft UAA function driver for High Definition Audio-Realtek 880/860.

Great I now have a sound output........not quite out of the woods though because the CD sound input and the rear panel input are not injecting sound into the PC. Basically half way there.

Windows tells me that the drivers for the input side are fully working. Some more playing to do I think.

    Thanks again Stuart.

One quick point here. .....there are no yellow exclamation marks trying to hide any of the relevant drivers in the Windows Hardware profile and device manager programs!

Windows give me no yellow explamation marks for any of my drivers or hardware on the whole of the PC let alone for the audio devices.

Also I am beginning to wonder if this board will only run perfectly with XP operating system, as I have issues with the IDE selecting the hard drive if I disconnect any of my CD or DVD drives. Maybe the CMOS is lying to me and it is set up wrongly.

Check in the Bios and make sure the onboard sound is actually enabled. Should tell you in the manual how.

I have a foxconn 45cmx motherboard with a realtek alc662 sound card. I have alle drivers installed en updated but i have no sound. Can anyone tell me what to do?

Verify that the volume is not set to mute. If possible verify that the Front Audio is disable when it is not connected to the front audio panel. To disable Front audio as below: pin 5,6 and pin 9,10 should be short with jumper.

Foxconn 945G7MA-8KS2H IDE BIOS problems

Are you using a 80 pin super ata cable or a old 40 pin?. Have you tried different jumpers on the drive`s slave/mater/cable select?. Have you made sure that all the channels are turned on in the bios?. Make sure they are all set to auto. I know you probable checked all these things already. But just wanted to make sure that you didn't over look some thing simple.
