Question about Dell (0F027) CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner
Sounds like your burning software may be corrupted. Did it ever work? If so, you might try a restore to the date it last worked. Otherwise, check device manager in Control panel for any nasty yellow checks, and fix as described. You cant use microsoft's buring software--you have to have a good burning program, which likely came with your computer. Find out what burning software you have-- I recommend downloading Belarc Advisor, a free program which not only tells you everything in your computer, with model numbers for hardware and all of your software (with their unique codes), but will also inform you if you are missing any needed Windows updates. Once you know what you have, if it came with the computer, you have to seek a download at the computer manufacturer's website, as it may be a special program not related to the burning software purchased from the software manufacturer---go to their website for upgrades.
