Question about Uniden Cordless Phone
Although I have a Brother 420CN that I had similar problems with, the
instructions for checking the lines remain the same I'm sure. Double
check the telephone outlet by plugging in a separate phone connection.
If there is a dial tone, you know the line is good. Next double check
that you have the Ext Line cords on the fax machine input correctly.
Make sure your fax cord runs directly into the telephone jack on the wall - do not plug fax cord into a 2 way or 3 way adapter to the phone jack. You can however use a line filter (cord with jack plug that's usually provided by the manufacturer - check your phone box if you still have it) and plug the fax cord into that.
Eventually I did manage to get this to work for me - after numerous tech support calls to my phone provider!

Make sure you have a dial tone by plugging a different phone into the jack. then make sure you have it plugged into the jack on the fax that says line.
