More than likely just the power supply would be damaged, it should blow before the rest of the unit gets damaged. Maybe even just the fuse inside where the power lead connects is blown.

I have a sansui 14" tv.14 yrs old.there is showing 220volt supply at antenna & audio video receiver point.what's the fault.how I will rectify it.thanks

The antenna & Audio Video receiver point should not have mains power getting to it. Especially the antenna which is the aerial. If the aerial has 220 volts on it you would get a lethal electric shock every time you plugged in the aerial lead!
There is clearly something wrong with the units power supply if 220 volts is getting to that part of the unit.

I plugged my surround sound into a 220 outlet

Without a circuit diagram and test equipment it would be impossible to identify the fault and repair.

I have a Denon AVR-587 with a sub out jack. I connected a Sony SA-W3000 and I can't get it to work? I hear very little sound coming out of it. Do I need to turn something else on??

Hi,
I assume that the sub-woofer is "POWERED TYPE" ..otherwise if it is a PASSIVE type you can not use it as sub but regular speaker.....
So,if it has a power plug for 110 VAC it is "powered type" ..Than you need to find out the AUDIO output 2xRCA plugs on the back and connect it to the 1x RCA input of Sub...you need a "Y type RCA cable " to make 2x stereo output into the 1x MONO input RCA jacks for sub..you need volume adjustment once on the sub controls (if it is a Powered )

Take care and if it succeeds please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up

Hope this helps!

Could jvcrx 778 be converted from 110 VAC to 220VAC power input ? or is it an auto volt

if it says 110/220 on the bk and there isnt a switch to change to 220 its auto but if it doesnt say 220 on there dont plug it into 220 this unit has a built in power supply so if you do 220 and its not rated for that itll fry.

I have a sansui stereo av receiver rz 7000 from 1990 which works on 110 220 230 volts and the receiver has a voltage selector on the back - I need to understand how to move the selector from 220 to 110...

Remove the fuse cover with a flat screwdriver, then pull the surrounding circular black plastic piec straight out and reorient it to show the desired voltage, then plug it in, insert the fuse and cap.

My unit is in stand by but will not power on

Disconnect the main power to the receiver and let it set for 15 minutes or so, this will allow the capacitors to discharge fully. If the receiver did not suffer transformer damage, it should turn back on. If you don't have a good surge protection unit with line conditioning like Panamax or Furman, get one! It will save you $$$ in the long run. Hope this helps.

Plugged a 110 volt kenwood receiver accidentally to 220 volts

Considering 220 and 110 systems have different receptacles, you worked at doing this.
Since it is already inoperable, you may as well remove the housing and inspect the guts. If you see burned traces or boards, don't bother to have it repaired.
If you see a fuse in a clip, you might replace it once, two would be the waste of the second fuse.

Help required for dumbo on Amps Denon AVR 2808CI

Your unit was probably damaged in shipping. Denon is a nice unit! Do you hear any clicks when you hit the power button??? You should hear two relay clicks. You should hear the power relay click at power on and 3 to 5 seconds later you should hear the speaker protection relay click if your audio amp section is ok. If you hear both relays click then your display circuit is at fault. Open the unit and look for breaks on the front pcb (behind the display) and on the main board in the power section ( where the fuses are ).
Good Luck!
