Question about InFocus Proxima DP6155 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

I have an alignment problem with colors and i've found a little mesh screen

My proxima dp6155 had a bulb burn out and was working perfectly. I went to replace the bulb and hears something rattling around inside. in rocking the projector back and forth a little silver screen - rectangularly shaped with hundreds of holes fell out. - it appears that it was just glued in place somewhere inside the projector. I powered up the projector and now seem to have a convergience problem. Does this little screen matter or does it pull all the colors together? thanks for your help

Same problems. After an hour or so of using the projector, I begin to

get ghosting. If I shut the projector off and unplug it, it will be fine for

another hour or so before it begins again. ????? I also found the

metal screen part of the bulb housing lying inside the projector. It

appears heat from the bulb dried out the glue on the screens and

    they simply fell off.

I have the same exact problem. After a wile of use the colors kinda separate. The little screen that everyone is talking about is a part of the lamp itself. Its a filter, preventing big dust particles from entering the lamp. It has nothing to do with the ghosting image. I think its a heat issue or something. I've fully dismantled my projector and found nothing physical burned out. I know a little about electronics but have no idea how this thing works. The LCDs work fine, the cooling system has no obstructions, the processor seems fine, the lenses and mirrors are in place. So my conclusion is that it has to be an electrical component on the main board. video cards do something similar when a memory module is going bad or the GPU is overheating. I dought its the problem though because it seems to start happening after a couple of thousands of hours of use, so it has to be something that wears out. It could be a capacitor or censer of some kind. IF anyone els understands this better please help! I'm vary frustrated because I know its simple, I'm just not seeing it. If it works fine at time it just means its one tiny malfunction throwing the rest of the system off.

I had this same problem, I just glued the screen back on. You can fix the ghosting in the service menu.

I'm trying to replace the lamp

all [parts small or large are in place for a reason and if it does not go back on then the chances are that yu have the wrong bulb as this is a common occurance. also you will have a counter for the bulb hours on the inbuilt menu on screen, this will need resetting for full functionality to be returned.
