Question about Consew 199R-2A Sewing Machine

2 Answers

Bobbin Threading Hi, I have a new Consew 206RB-5. I followed the directions in the manuel how to thread the bobbin on the side of the machine. The only thing is I turn on the machine and nothing happens. Am I supposed to press something I don't understand. I need to know how to thread the bobbin on my Consew. The bobbin is the drop-in ,not insert to the side type. I just can't figure it out. Probably very simple... The bobbin is filled and the machine is threaded properly, but can't figure how to get the boobin thread to catch. I am doing something wrong in threading the bobbin.

"turn on the machine and nothing happens"
That is the way sewing machines should work. A sewing machine should not begin running when it is turned on. There is usually a foot pedal or something (like the gas pedal in a car) that governs the start, speed, and stop.

Do you not have a manual for your machine? Very important piece of information for how to use your machine.

SOURCE: Consew 206RB, threading problem?

This machine has a safety clutch which is designed to protect the hook mechanism. To access it, place the machine on it's back. About 8-10 inches from the right side you will see an assembly on the main shaft. You need to hold this assembly with a push button located on the bed of the machine while you turn the handwheel. It will click in place when it is in the correct position. Once you've done this the machine should be back in time so it will sew.Hold the top thread ,turn the handwheel and draw the bottom thread up before you begin sewing. Place a piece of fabric under the foot , turn the wheel by hand to make sure there is no binding and that the thread is being picked up.

You may have bent the needle, replace that first.
Have you wound a new bobbin? Sometimes they wind poorly.
Check the hook race for thread "nests". (Bobbin casing)

Send an email to me at dbjamie@msn.com and maybe I can help. I'd need more info. on your ploblem. I'll start you off with these two things assuming that your difficulty is with the bobbin as you state "underneath & threading". Notice the white painted dot on the the machine arm at the drive pully. Notice the white dot on the pully. Allign these two. Tilt the entire machine head back so that it is resting on the word verticle finger stop (or get underneath the machine). Bobbins are loaded by pulling the small chrome lever w/ your thumb & index finger (this is an unlocking latch). Do so moving it outward to about 90 degrees. Usually while you do this the holder and bobbin just pop out. To install u just snap then on. It's placed when u hear a click. For more info email me directly. Doug

I am not sure about this particular machine but in most machines there will be a nob on the front loose low numbers like 0 1 -2 work well on number 3. If the nob is not on the front check and see if it is on the side.

Consew 206rb-1 thread was caught in the boobin area i removed

Had the same problen today, Remove your bobbin, the part where the bobbin is in should move a little, if it does not you have string you can not see behind that part. To get it out turn the machine backwards, it will really turn hard, but will turn, do this until you can see the thread come out or until the piece that holds the bobbin will move a little. good luck

Bobbin Case will not snap into housing

Insert the bobbin case without a bobbin to see if it will go all the way into the locked position. If it does, the bobbin case and basket are okay.
Check inside the bobbin basket(where the bobbin goes) and see if there is thread or lint wrapped around the spindle the bobbin case sits on. If there is, remove it. If there isn't ,then the bobbin is probably sprung and needs to be replaced.
