Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

Connected cam (with Sony mem stick pro)to PC>Corresponding drive is empty -No DCIM folder

Cam: Sony DSC D-5
Mem: memory stick PRO (256 MB)

I can take new pics and also view them on the cam. On attempting to transfer the pics on to my pc (Win XP -SP2) via the USB, the drive shows up however on opening it, I find it empty.

I even tried various folder options ( show hidden files+folders, UNhde protected OS files) - doesnt help!

How do i retrieve the pics. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Sony dsc-w50. iam not finding the folder to delete photos after connecting to pc. but able to import to pc.

The images will be in the DCIM Folder.

Go to the "My Computer" or "Computer" window, click on the Drive which represent the Camera and locate the DCIM folder and delete the images.

However, it is recommend to delete the images using the Camera (not from the Computer).

You may try formatting the Memory Stick. Formatting the Memory Stick will delete all the Data from the Memory Stick (Camera).

To format the Memory Stick:

Press the Menu button on the Camera -> SETUP -> MEMORY STICK TOOL -> Format -> OK.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Memory Stick error

Hello!

Following types of memory sticks are compatible with the Camera model DSC-V1:

Memory stick: 32/64/128 MB
Memory stick Pro: 256 MB/512 MB/1 GB/2 GB.
Mark 2 Memory stick Pro: 1/2 GB.

However, in order to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media with the Camera, a dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached.

Follow the steps given below to troubleshoot the Camera that is not recognizing any compatible memory sticks:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C186797

Furthermore, you may try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 30 seconds.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above mentioned steps then the Camera is required to be diagnosed and serviced.

Hello, please give me the details of the memory stick. Brand, where did you by it? If it is not the original one... (there are some copies of bad quality - smaller capacity). Thank you, Arpi
