If you did not print a long time colored (because you did not find cartridges or whatever) then great chances are the printhead is clogged (ink dryed out on nozzles), becauze NOT PRINTING a long time (30 days) with a printer can lead to ink drying out in the printhead, clogging the nozzles.
Your printer works with the BCI-24 bk and BCI-24 c cartridges, that are in fact just ink-tanks, the printhead being apart of the tanks, so if the cartridges are not empty, it cannot be because of them. It doesnt matter if you replace the cartridges, the problem is in the printhead. Curious thing is that usually it starts with pour quality printing if printhead starts to clogg, not with blank pages...
Anyway, now it comes:
You can remove the cartridge and get out the the printhead (where the cartridge are in) and do the following:
First of all, look if there is somne ink lines on the nozzle part of the printhead. If you put a paper-tissue on the nozzles and it let on paper the 4 lines (black and colors) than maybe it's useless to clean the printhead, ink is comming trough and then I dont know why paper comes out blank.
If there are dry:
Put a paper-tissue on a small plate (like a coffee-cup plate), then put some boiling water on it, just 2~3mm of water over the tissue.
Put the printhead with the nozzles part downside on the tissue, in the hot water.
Let it stay there in the water 30 min.
Put the cartridges back on the printhead (without installing it in the printer), rap it in an other clean tissue, than shake it strongy as if you want to force ink to get out trough the nozzles. Then clean gentle the nozzle part of the printhead on some sheets of tissue.
Get the cartridges again out of the printhead, install it in the printer, then install the cartridges again and run a few cleaning processes from the printers maintenance software.
It should work. If this does not fix the printhead, Canon gotcha, because if the printhead itself died (here i mean the electric circuits of it) then you should know thet a new printhead for your type of printer is more expensive that the printer itself.
