Question about Kodak EasyShare Z700 Digital Camera
Kodak Easyshare Z700 - batteries are fully charged, but the camera switches on and then turns off - the screen for setting the Date and Time briefly shows. Camera doesn't show when connected to the PC via USB cable.
When this first happened to mine, removing the memory card seemed to help. Later nothing.
What seems to work is bending the contacts on the battery compartment to fit tighter. (my camera has had a lot of use)
The older the camera gets, the more it seems to require very fresh batteries.

I have the same problem. Removing the memory card and then starting up seemed to fix it; the camera would then start up ok even with the card in.

Guest is right. Clean the contacts, bend the contacts with a small flat head screw driver upwards "GENTLY". This should work. Might have to repeat every couple of months. Forget regular batteries. Use the rechargeable ones. MUST be fully recharged.
