Your board is PCI EXpress so as long as you get a PCI express Video card you should be fine. Just dont get a video card with a Faster Bus speed than your Mobo or else its wasted potential, but other than that, ** problem, have fun playing video games :)

Which graphics card is best suitable for ASUS P5LD2-VM Motherboard

Not too shabby, looks like it will support PCI Express based cards since most these days are PCIe and PCI, so its personal preferance and what you can afford. But since its a Intel based board (according to reviews) nVidia is a logical solution, but ATi will still work fine

INSTALLING GRAPHIC CARD 9500GT ON ASUS P5LD2-VM R1

Hi,
First of all is this a new graphics card? If it is take the card out of the PCI Express slot, get a clean, dry, soft paintbrush and clean the PCI Express slot, then blow on the slot to remove any residual dust.
Make sure the brass contacts on the card are clean and then reinsert the card, make sure it clips into place properly and you secure the card with the screw at the back of the computer, then try booting the machine.

If you bought the card second hand then there is a possibility that the card is faulty.
Luckily for you i now a way to bring a dead graphics card back to life but you do it at your own risk.

Let me know how you get on and good luck.

Is it compatible

Hi playboyalive, to answer your question! (Yes) the,
XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard will support Intel's core i7 extreme edition multi-core 3.2GHz CPU. The board can go higher. The highest tested by XFX is Intel's 3.73 GHz multi-core CPU. You can see all supported CPU's at the XFX link below;

The above link was opened from this XFX link; http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_nforce_790i_ultra_sli_us.html

Graphics card problem

Hi rovin,
So you bought an XFX GeForce 256MB video card. You're board has 1 free AGP 8x video slot & 3 PCI (White opened slots).
You mention there is not slot for the new card. (What type of video card did you buy)? PCI-E, AGP or PCI?
The only slot you're board does not have is a PCI-Express.
Look in you're manual on page 1-7 for the location of the AGP video card slot.
94565e6.jpg If you bought the wrong card, exchange it for an AGP 8x or PCI.
The ASUS P5PE-VM uses a integrated Intel® 865G chipset with integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 Technology, which uses you're system memory to function.
If you need a manual you can download it from Asus. Click on the link to open to the P5PE-VM download site.

I hope you find this helpful.

GRAPHICS CARD

Hi yeko, any one of these cards will run just fine on your board. Look to the upper left of the page where you can pick the total amount of memory you prefer your AGP 8x card to use.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=318&

I prefer XFX cards because they carry a Lifetime Warranty.
yeko, do not forget to set your Graphics Adapter Priority [AGP/Int-VGA], or your video will not run correctly. Pg. 2-19 in your manual.

Good luck!

Hi shuter. Your Asus P5RD1-VM has an integrated video adapter ATI® Radeon 9600 GPU. You need to enter your bios & change the video start up order. Pg.2-22 in your manual.
Configuration options: [IGD] [PEG/IGD] [PCI/IGD]
Boot Graphics Adapter Priority [PEG/IGD]
Save & exit. Check system at boot up for correct memory count.

Thanks for using FixYa & if you need more help just re-post here. Have a good one!

Installing NVidia 8500GT XFX 256MB graphics to A8N-VM Motherboard

The chances are that you have an old motherboard which is not compatable with the new graphic card. Or you may be running windows 98 and are downloading the driver for xp or visa versa. The probable solution, will be to sell the new card on ebay and buy the best old card you can off ebay. Or just make do with the card you already had in your computer. If you are determined to have a better graphics card. A motherboard upgrade with better graphic card may be the best answer or buy a better spec pc second hand if you don't have much money. You'll probably waiste a lot of time trying to get the new card to work and it probably never will.

GRAPHICS CARD

I suggest XFX GeForce 8500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI Express video card. No need for an upgrade & it has a lifetime warranty. The price is great! Your Asus P5VDC will run it. Here is the link:
