Samsung LCD TV not receiving PC signal

TV isn't accepting PC input.

What I've tried.
I have connected my computer to my Samsung TV via the VGA input.
I have also pressed the Menu button and highlighted the Source option. However the PC field is still grayed out and can't be selected.

I have connected two different notebooks but it is still not working.

TV model code: LA32R81BDX/XSA
Serial no: AHCS3MKPB00502K
Version: CM05

I've got the same problem with my Samsung Television.

In my case I have split the signal between the monitor and the VGA output...it seems that it isn't a resolution problem it's the absence of a signal problem.

Is there some reason this feature would be disabled on certain models but the vga port and the menu option (although grayed out) would still exist?

I have the same problem and I have checked my resolution, I have cloned the display, I have even checked the signal on other monitors. I have used all types of resolutions (at 60hz) and it still doesn't show up on my samsung monitor. The pc option is still grayed out. I know it is sending signal and my Sony VAIO even recognizes what kind of TV it is, but the darn TV doesn't 'get it.' If it is seriously this hard I don't know what samsung bothers putting the port on the TV. Then again maybe mine is defective. It does work with HDMI, but I figure I can get the correct resolution and a more crisp picture with the VGA cable...

I have problem with Samsung LE37M86BD.

I got it like 9 months ago and when I got the HDMI cable I started to have problems. Once I fixed it just by shutting down my computer and television and starting them in different order. Boom it works!! Then comes the time when I need to move my PC and that means disconnectin every cable that it is on.

After I did what ever I was doing with computer (moving it, going to lan, or just cleaning it) I put it back to my room and connect cables. After I put it on and I put TV on. TV cant find HDMI2, but computer finds TV and names it "Samsung"

I had this problem now 3 or 4 times :) and now I have it again.
Though im getting so bored with this and I want to know why it is doing things like this, because there is no logic in this.

I can start to turn computer and tv again and again and again, and not knowing will it work or not.

So as I assume it is TVs problem?

    My PC:
    Core2Duo 67xx
    XFX Geforce 8800GTS ALPHA DOG
    2GB ram
    xxxxGB.

    My TV
    LE37M86BD

    HELP PLEASE!

Check your vga cable. Some cables have only 14 pins, some have all 15. The missing pin is pin 9, in the 15 pin cable it carries 5v from the graphics card to the screen. Without that 5v signal most LCD and Plasma television screens won't recognise a PC input. I had the same problem and only managed to fix it when my girlfriend swapped a cable over for me and as she did so glanced inside and said "it's got a bit missing" The cable that came with your PC most likely only has 14 ins as that is all a monitor screen needs.
You can buy a 15 pin cable at most PC or electronic shops, just check that isdoes have all 15 pins befiore you buy it. The cheap ones are just as good as the expensive ones unless you are buying 20 foot cable. For 6 foot cable the cheap ones are just as good as the expensive ones.

You more than likely are not SENDING a signal FROM your PC so the option is not available. Get your computer set up for TWO displays and select CLONE if that option is available so what you see is what you get.

Hello!

This Samsung LA40C350 TV requires all pins are connected from D15 D15 VGA cable
Some cables what they sell in market dont have all wires connected. Only RGB, Grounds and Horizontal and Vertical sync but missing other connections
Samsung uses those other pins detect if PC is connected or not.

Next time you buy VGA cable, take multimeter with you and check that all pinns are connected through, before buying cable.

Check this forum out - the problem is potentially due to the PC/ VGA input being set to autodetect.

Working cables are available on ebay. Search 'samsung hdtv pc cable'.

How should I connect a Sony Wega KF-50WE620 to an XBox360 ?

Since the TV accepts HD signals only via DVI and component inputs, the only logical way is to use the "Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable" as show in the link below:

How to hook up your Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 to TV

The TV will not accept a VGA input. A cable converting HDMI to DVI would also require that you break out the L + R audio channels, too. The one I mentioned above does this all for you with no degradation in video signals.

I would like to connect my my hp laptop to my Sony Grand WEGA KDP-57WS550 57 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television to watch netflix

You need to connect your PC to either your TV or your receiver. Also, if you have XBox, you can watch Netflix through it (thought I'd suggest, just in case).

Take your PC (or take a photo of your available outputs from your PC) and a photo of your available inputs (on your TV or receiver) to Best Buy or similar computer store. They can help you learn which connections you need.

Most likely you'll need a DVI to HDMI cable for video, and maybe a separate audio cable from your headphone connection on your PC to your TV (or receiver). You'll only need a separate cable for audio if your HDMI input on your TV does not support audio.

I am going through this same problem with my TV connecting Apple TV. I am checking now whether my old rear projection tv's HDMI input supports audio (same as yours). I've connected Apple TV to my rear projection TV. I have video, but no sound. Either my TV doesn't support HDMI audio, or I need to change a setting on the TV to enable that sound to work. If the TV does not support HDMI audio, I will need to connect Apple TV directly to my receiver via a digital optical cable for sound.

Hope this helps.

Hello
VGA and DVI are not compactable. Your TV has no provision to connect it to computer.

DVI-HDTV Input (Input 1)

Use this DVI-HDTV Input for your external devices with DVI-HDTV output such as a Set-Top-Box, high-band DTV decoders, DVD
players and D-VHS with Digital Content Protection

1. Only DTV format such as 1080i, 720p, 480i and 480p are available for DVI-HDTV input.

2. The DVI-HDTV input is NOT compatible when used with a DVD player from a personal computer.

3. When connecting a Set-Top-Box with a copy-protect digital out terminal, a high definition picture can be displayed
on the screen in its digital form
OK.

I don't have a direct solution but I am having the same problem when connecting (1) my Apple TV (2) my Blu-Ray player, etc. via HDMI. I also have a digital camera that puts out HDMI, and when I hook it up, I get the same story -- video only, no sound through the optical digital output of the TV receiver.

I am guessing that the HDMI inputs were an afterthought on this model, especially since the printed manual doesn't even show or mention the HDMI inputs at all! So my guess is that the TV's receiver does not convert the sound from the HDMI to the optical digital output. It does, however, send the amplified HDMI sound to the stereo speaker outputs on the monitor. It appears that only the digital tuner's 5.1 sound comes out on the optical digital output.

This is what I have observed, for what it's worth.

Jvc 56dlp connect computer

If you are getting an invalid input its because the resolution setting on your computer is probably set too high. The JVC only accepts 2 resolutions one is like 600x400 and the other is 1280x768. I had this problem all the time with vista. It can't seem to remember what resolution to use. The exact setting are also listed in owners manual.

Hello

by befault your dvd recorder is transmiting signals via component video, so what you need to do is this connect both cable HDMI and Component or just a video cable then go into setup and then select video out via HDMI your video will go off on the screen and then with TV remote slect input source HDMI on TV and it should work fine.

Thankyou
