Was just browsing the board. IBM has a PDF somewhere on their site which details the exact disassembly process. I had a screen problem a while back (fixed it once, but it's out again). It is fairly straight forward disassembly, but as always, keep track of/lay out all the parts in an orderly manner as you proceed. Sorry, don't have the exact site address. It's been a while. Maybe try 'T20 maintenance' once your at the IBM site.

I have an IBM Thinkpad T20 with a screen that went bad, and an IBM Thinkpad i1400 that will not take an OS, probably due to a bad processor. Both are 14" screens, would it be possible to swap the screen from the i1400 to the T20?

I just installed Ubuntu 9 in an IBM Thinkpad T20 as the single OS and none of my devices (Netgear WPN511 pcmcia wireless adapter in particular) will install. Is there an alternative set of drivers for Ubuntu or Linux? Or am I missing something completely?
