Can't make myself be heard or seen. I can hear

If the person cannot hear you then, either your microphonedriver not installed or not working OR the microphone is not configured inSkype.
To test your microphone then click on Start - All Programs - Accessories -Entertainment - Sound recorder. Then record your voice and then play it back.If this is OK then the microphone need to be configured in Skype.
To configure the microphone - Open Skype - Tools - Options -Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.

You do not say if your brother only has the problem when talking to you.

Tell your brother to open Skype
Click 'Options'
Click 'Video settings'
Under 'Automatically receive video and screen sharing from...'
Make sure 'no one' is unchecked select 'anyone' for a trial.

The performance of Skype is affected by the bandwidth available from your ISP. The video image your are sending and receiving occupy a large part of the information transmitted over the Internet, therefore make sure the video image setting is at a resolution of 320X240 (e-mail size) and if this is still affecting the audio quality to the other person (ie. the voice breaks up) and the video image then switch the video camera off and if sound and video image from the other party is also affecting you, then also get them to switch off their video camera.
Also check the Video and Microphone settings in Skype - Tools - Options etc. Check the correct video camera and microphone has been selected.

if you have the correct driver ...and it works on other instant massaging programs..like yahoo messenger or so...it means that the problem is from settings and so ...and its nothing wrong with th ecamera ...so ..try to reinstall skype ...

Try To Remove your Skype program Restart the computer and go to Skype.com and redownload Skype as sometimes they have update on there download. Good Luck

I had the same problem, and it got fixed after I upgraded to the new skype 4.0 version

1st You download Webcam Driver.
I cannot be seen and heard by other webcam user
After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.
