Ps2 rock band guitar not working

Hi, I had an older slimline ps2 and upgraded to a new one yesterday. Bought the Rock Band bundle and all seems to be working but the guitar. Red light comes on the usb when I plug it into my system but when I press the little white button to get the guitar to connect, it flashes for a second and when I press the clear button to activate the guitar nothing happens. Am I doin something wrong or have I got a defective guitar? Any help would be much appreciated.

bought the rock band never was able to use the cordless guitar. when you plug in to the ubs port in the console nothing happens, when you push the little white button on the guitar nothing happens, when you push the clear you can see some red inside but does not stay on. what is wrong, please help, the system costs quite a bit of money to have issues like this.

Me too. Exact same problem. Except the red light flashes on the usb connector. The sync solution unfortunately didn't work. Any other ideas?

We've played our guitar several times (had it for about 2 weeks), and now it won't sync... we've tried everything- can't get it to work.

We've had our guitar for about 2 weeks, and had worked fine but at times took a few minutes to sync. Now, it won't sync at all. We've replaced batteries, tuned off the system and guitar/ reset system, made sure guitar was tight and put together tightly...unplugged and replugged in everything- nothing.

We tried it 8 million times! It's rediculous! We have tried several times at turning off everything and reconnecting all of it again, the game recognizes the drums and mic, but not the guitar. The red light will not stay lit.

Well I have battled with this for 2 days. I have a new slime sline pst model SPCH 90001 and none of my 3 wireless guitars will sync on this console but when i use an older slim line model SPCH77001 everything is fine. Sony blames Activision and Activision blames sony. I feel sony is at fault since my hardware works fine on the older slimline.

What model of slimline are you using that will not allow it to function

my ps2 rockband black wireless box wont come on when you push the button. the little red light dosent come on.

I hate to start a trend, but a few problems isn't really a trend. Still, I bought 2 PS2s this week. I thought I'd gotten a deal for a SCPH-79001 at $99. But then I saw Walmart had PS2s at $88. Being a tight-wad, I bought the second one (a SCPH-90001), with the plan to return the SCPH-79001.

Noticing the boxes were different, I did some research and found this forum.

10 minutes ago I tried out the SCPH-90001 with an I-Con wireless guitar. Both lights would just blink and nothing would work. So I tried with the SCPH-79001 and the guitar worked fine.

So back to Walmart customer service I go. Kinda ticked I have to return the "newer" model.

Take and hold down the botton on the guitar and release it once it stays lite red

You have to synch it by pressing the button on the usb connection and then turn it on with the clear button

My PS2 isn't slimline. I'm not sure if that'd have anything to do with my issue. But I just brought the game today. And when I plug in the little usb connect thinger for the wireless guitar, the light dosent come on. I've tried several times. And still nothing. Not only that, but its like the Game Disk won't read in my PS2 either. I tried other games and they work fine, its only this one thats not working.

Just turn the ps2 up horizontly and when you hear the ticks (if its slimline) just tap it against you knee. This will knock the laser a little bit away from the line in the center, and it will read. DONT DO IT SO HARD THOUGH.

make shaw its not a ps3 game, not trying to be patronizing but ive had 3 people do that brought ps3 games and try to put them in ps2, its true sony are rip off merchants, my advise is not to get a wii ether go for a xbox 360, he will love you for ever. the download content alone you can get for rock band1/2 and guitar hero world tour is worth it

Gibson guitar doesnt play on rock band, only vocals come up

Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments are NOT compatible on the Wii. They are compatible on the 360, the PS3, and the RB drums for PS2. Activision went their own way with the Wii and made life difficult for all of the aspiring musicians on the Wii. Sorry.

Rock band won't play on my playstation2 slimline

We had the same problem, we even went and bought a whole new Rock Band. My husband turned our PS2 slimline on the side and it started working. I don't know why or how, I just know it worked for us. Give it a try and I hope it works for you also.
