Kenwood kdc-mp632u display is blank

Possible that the display is faulty or there is a fault in the power line. Also check if the strip that connects to the display is faulty. If the unit works perfectly except for the display then the fault is only with the panel and a voltage check on the panel will confirm the loss .Use a multimeter to test the voltage and also check on the tracks for continuity.

Hello. I have a kenwood kdc-132 that says "mecha error" whenever i try to play a CD :(

Possible that the main loading or the front loading mechanism is struck or jammed. You will need a visual indication of the mechanism to confirm. If so remove the mechanism and reset, If not the loading driver IC is faulty or the motor has failed.

However if the CD is not detected the optical is not working,as there is no laser scanning and the possibility that the laser head can be defective.
It is ideal to clean manually the laser head eye using a cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.

I get a message Protect. All other controls are

Usually the protect is a safe mode to indicate that your set is unsafe. Starrt by checking the speakers, speaker wires for shorting. detach the speaker lines and power on the set for confrimation. check in power/auxially circuits in the set. it is possible that your mechanism drive / audio output drive Ic's could have shorted. Most of these cirrcuits have an error detection of higher current to cut off power and issue a protect warning. so discoonect the IC power to confirm. Hope this helps. Good day

Protect light flashes on & off

Please check if any of the speaker wires are touching the ground. This is a safe guard error message indicating a short. Please check on the wiring/ the harness, disconnect one by one to see if the error message goes off. If so trace this connecction for a short. If the blinking continues even after the connections are removed then you must open the set and check the output amplifier for a short. Disconnect the power to the IC/drive to confirm. Hope you get this right. Helpful. Good day

My car stereo flashes the word "PROTECT"

If this happened while playing music at a little higher volume, you must check the speakers for short in coils. disconnect the speakers to see if the protect condition changes, if so check the speakers and wiring. If not then you must have blown up the output IC or a power shorting within the set. You will have to remove the pcb disconnect the power to the output IC to confirm the fault. Helpful I hope. Good day

check the fuse behind the wireharness. if good check the fuse in your vehicle. if still no power you might have a faulty ic in your radio which is causing it to short out . the ic# (pal 007a) which is located behind the aluminum part in the back of the radio.

Pioneer cd player is saying power ic damaged

The power IC is part of the amplification circuitry inside the head unit.
I would suggest 3 options:
1. Attempt to fix it yourself (don't do this unless you're good at soldering/desoldering, dissasembling and reassembling things, and can recognize what the IC would look like).

2. Remove the head unit and send it out for service/replace it with another.

3. If the preamp outputs still work and you have an external amplifier - you could use that. This isn't the slickest way to have a sound system operate but it won't cost you anything.
