I don't know if it's the tie rods or ball joints. When driving the car wobbles really bad. The tires are pointing two different directions. Just got in one morning and this started. Can steer fine just a bad wobble .

Without looking at it, it would be hard to say for certain. Given your description, however, I'd say it's the tie rod ends. Keep in mind that this has a direct impact on the ball joints, so the ball joints are probably ready to be replaced also. I'd suggest you have it taken care of now before you damage the sway bar too.

If you give me year, make, model and how many miles are on the vehicle I can tell you exactly what the problem is...However in all cases once one component wears out all surrounding components start to wear out as well because it will add more stress on everything because all suspension components are connected because they need each other to work properly......Please let me know...I would love to assist you......"..Brooks/Metalpoet...."

Also as Bob mentioned the sway bar...The sway bar has sway bar rubber bushings and links..this could be a problem as well..however the bushings will wear out before the bar is damaged..Unless of course all this has already happened...Remember..I need year/make/model and mileage...Good luck..Brooks.....

1993pontiac grand am front wheels wobble while driving

Jack up the front wheels and rotate them by hand. Look for any runout that may be cause by a bent wheel. Also feel the tread as you rotate the tire. It should be smooth and concentric. If there are any bulges in the tread the tire is seperated. Grab the wheel at the top and bottom and push/pull. You should feel no play. If you do you woman have a bad wheel bearing. In order to check ball joints and tie rods you will need to have the tire off the ground and the jack under the subframe or pinch weld. This will not work if the jack is under the control arm. Grab the tire at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions and push pull. If you feel any play you either hav E worn ball joints or worn tie rod ends. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Does a 2002 taurus have wheel barrings

Possibilities are:
  1. Bad wheel bearing
  2. Bad tie rod
  3. Bad ball joint
  4. Bad strut
  5. Loose lug nuts
Most cases it's a wheel bearing but since you're getting a loud noise too, it could very well be a bad ball joint or tie rod end.

I have a 2001 chevy s10 that begins to shake really badly when i get up to 50 mph. the wheels also start to wobble when i turn the wheel all the way in one direction. a mechanic told me it was the bars or...

Your mechanic is correct, They may have mentioned "Tie rod" ends as well as "Ball Joints", If left unrepaired they will leave you stranded when they let go as well as
ruining tires very quickly. Usually a tie rod end or ball joint will break as you make a
slow turn because of the extra force exerted on them as you make the turn into
a drive. Hope this is useful information.

The passenger front tire of my Chrysler 300m wobbles every time I hit a hard bump. Tie Rod maybe? I was told that the Tie Rod on that side was wore when I had new tires put on so that was my guess.

could be tie rod or ball joint or bushing. I would put it on a rack and pull at every joint. You can even check at home by jacking up the wheel and pulling it in each direction. There should not be any play. In/out play at side of wheel is due to tie rods or bushings. In/out play at bottom is due to ball joint.

On the front passenger side, I replaced the ball joint (it was bad), the tie rod (bad) the wheel bearing (bad) and the CV HalfShaft (bad)....yet.... there is STILL shaking on the passenger side of the car....

The new tires could be out of balance,or even though they are new could have a bad belt in one of them,If it was doing this, the problem,if it was there before the tires were installed, have the front end checked. And you may need a front end alignment. If the tie rod,and ball joint were bad on that side, then chances are the other side may have bad front end parts also. You know it needs alignment after replacing tie rod ends don`t you?Eye balling the tie rod end does not get it back in line, and it may have needed the alignment anyway,Have a 4 wheel alignment done to make sure that is out og the equation while diagnosing the problem.

Car started to shake while driving

Jack front end. Use both hands to check driver and passenger side tires for slight wobble. If wobbles, you have a bad ball joint. Otherwise inspect tie-rod end for wear.
