ERROR CODE ON AIRCONDITIONER LG ART COOL INVERTER MODEL NUMBER LSZ244VM4

Hi we keep getting error code c6 on the inside unit, we have tried cleaning the filter and resetting the power which helps for about 5 mins then it comes up again and stops working, you cannot turn the unit off, via remote or via the button on the side of the unit. We have 2 of these units and they both have the same error code and will not work, the manual has nothing in there about error code C6. Can you please help as the weather is becoming unbearable, do I need to call someone in. We have only had these units for about 14 mths.
thanks  in advance. We bought a set of 20 units. 5 of the units have these split systems in them. The tenants have reported this problem with 5 out of 5 of them. The units are great until they turn themselves off and show the error code C6.
Haven't approached anyone before now and not in a situation to be experimenting with them. Don't know where to go for help on this one. Starting here.

Hi,

The first thing i'll say is you will need to get it repaired by a technician and i strongly recommend you not to do it by urself.

Remote control units have diagnostic program in the
control, after 3 to 5 minutes of operating if the diagnostic
tools detect abnormal operation, then its shutdown the unit
to protect from damage. Thermistor sensor is one of the
parts that detect the operation of the unit. Out of range
or defective thermistor can shut the operation of the unit.
-
If your indoor and outdoor is clean start the unit in cool mode and monitor the outdoor pipes. If your suction pipe is icing or dry then your unit is under charge, but if your suction is cold and sweating then the system is ok and sure that the thermistor sensor is defective.
- Out of range thermistor sensor in both return air and freeze up sensor can cause the tripping “off “ the unit.

14 months old, may still be in warranty, and 5 out of 5 of your split systems exhibiting the same error code leads me to believe that yours aren't/shouldn't be the only ones with this problem.

Contact the retailer/wholesaler where you purchased them, as you should be considered a valued customer (considering you purchased 20 units) and I'm sure they will/should be anxious to correct this issue for you ASAP.

I searched the manual that IB4G2008 posted for you and found no mention of error C6 for your LG LSC183VMA systems there or any other troubleshooting resources for that matter (seems odd since you are having 5 for 5 with the same issue).

Good luck.

PS: I am an card holding EPA certified Refrigeration Tech. and believe IB4G2008 probably is also.

According to this guide, it looks like you may need to call a service person to check them or you can try to do it yourself.

BLINKING SNOWFLAKE, FALSHING, CHANGED BATTERIES STILL FLASHING A/C DOES COOL

Try:
Check or clean air filter
Check or clean outdoor coil
Turn off power for 5 mins at the breaker and then turn power back on.

Not sure what system you have but I think you have a mini split ductless. The snow flake on the remote is blinking probably due to a trouble/error code from a fault in the system. If its a window unit, unplug it for 5 mins then try again. There are many ?'s on here that don't give us a model# & makers name/brand.

Our Evaporative A/C stops and we get Error C5 can any body help

Hello
Error c5 is a communication error, between the inside and outside unit.

Check your condensate pump operation, float should move freely and unit should not be full of water.

Another possibility is faulty wiring from your outside unit to the inside.
Try taking all power away from unit for 5 min and then turn on to see if it will reset.
If this doesnt work call for service.

C6 error code on LG art cool

Try turning the power off at the fuse box, waiting 5 minutes turning the system back on and spray some water on the vents on the side of the outside condenser. If the fan isnt spining get a twig and spin it in an anti-clockwise direction after 1 or 2 spins it should start spinning on its own. continue to hose the vents with water for another 5 minutes. Its important to have the fan spinning as it extracts the heat from the condenser box.

Still sounds like there is a problem with the fuser unit. The technician that replaced the parts should be able to troubleshoot the problem.
C6 = Fuser error. The unit is not heating up due to a bad Fuser lamp, fuse, or thermostat, or bad thermistor.
The circuit is open, and the machine won't work til the problem is repaired. Once open circuit is repaired/closed, the machine should reset on it's own after you power the machine down and back up.

Does the machine flash the C6 right away as soon as you turn it on OR, does the C6 show up after about 3-5 minutes?

If you get the C6 right away, then the circuit is open, and that needs to be fixed.

If you get a c6 after 3-5 minutes, then there is a good chance the lamp is bad.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

- Out of range thermistor sensor in both return air and freeze up sensor can cause the tripping “off “ the unit. The resistance of both thermistor is 8 to 10k ohms@25 deg. C temp. , so can test by using ohm meter.
- Try also to check the voltage in you area if normal, loose ac outlet.
- Be sure that unit is clean no obstruction in your air out and air in.
- Unplug the unit to reset the c6 error.
