Blinking error: "Washing Drying Er clean S." What does this mean? How do I fix it?

    Thank you

  • tracypih Dec 22, 2008

Mine is now doing the same thing, did you resolve your issue?

  • Anonymous Dec 28, 2008

It means the control panel is bad. If you disconnect the power and then reconnect it, you'll see a blinkink "Pf." Press "Start/Cancel" and whatever happens next may give an indication of what's exactly wrong with the control pad. In any case, a minute later the "Er" will start to blink again because the dishwasher thinks you're holding down one of the buttons.

I have the same problem. I've had parts replaced several times, and eventually it always comes back.

  • Wilhelmf Mar 04, 2009

My dishwasher (~2 yrs old) will randomly start flashing the entire display and the only way to stop it is to shut the power off and on again which gets a 'pf' that can be cleared. But now, the only selectable option is the 'eco' wash cycle. Many blogs and product ratings indicate that control boards are defective and they have had them replaced many times with the same result. I suspect the touch panel on mine is bad; maybe even the control board. Have inspected the control board under a microscope and found no unsoldered or cracked connections. The moisture seal and cover around the board is a joke but there was no moisture damage. I really like the machine and Frididaire is willing to fix it under a concession even after the one year warranty period but will it last longer than ~2 years again?

  • rh-spectrum Apr 10, 2009

My Frigidaire Dishwasher is about 3 years old. For the last year or so the touch control panel located on the top edge of the door has been almost totally unresponsive. Strangely it gets a little better if the machine is left unused for 3-4 days. That suggests a moisture problem to me.,

The location of the touch control panel at the top edge of the door and the horizontal position make it prone to collecting moisture - especially hot steam when the door is opened at the end of a cycle. That is my guess for the source of the moisture. Will have try replacing the touch control panel which is $125 just for the part if ordered on line..

The ER error code means the touchpad is defective..sometimes that can be just a loose ribbon cable connection to control board. or if that seems tight the touchpad which is part of the console should be replaced

Hi

"Er Clean S" is a common error with Frigidaire which means shorted keypad. The issue is with the touchpad/keypad that should be replaced. However, before replacing the keypad you can unplug it and take it apart completely and use a hair dryer to blow some warm air on the keypad assembly to blow the moisture off. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Thank you for your post, Melissa Androes!
From the information you have provided on your Frigidaire dishwasher the wash, dry, and clean light is blinking along with a 4. This could mean that the dishwasher is pausing for the heater to become energized. If this code has been flashing for a long time I would suggest performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to experience issues with your dishwasher I would recommend consulting with technician for a diagnosis to be completed. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire FFBD2406NW0A then clean wash drying and 4 hour led lights are blinking

I appreciate your post, friend!

I understand that the clean, wash, and dry buttons on your Frigidaire dishwasher are blinking along with the four LED light. This appears to be a delay start cycle. I would recommend pressing the cancel button. If that does not clear the lights you can perform a reset and to do that you would need to disconnect power from the dishwasher for roughly ten minutes. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Thank you for your post, nansie Bento!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is flashing "ER clean S". That error stands for a membrane switch failure, which means that your main control board has detected a key stuck or pressed in for more than a minute. You can push all the buttons down to attempt to locate the key that is stuck. It could be a potential issue within the keypad or main control board. You could try to clear the error code by resetting your appliance, which can be done by flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

THe Dishwasher just keeps Washing And Rinesing

Turned Fridgidaire washer on last night before going to bed; this morning, it's running (at least making sounds) but did not wash; 4000 Series Frigidaire; display says Washing Drying Er Clean S; and two lights are flashing - Ultimate Scrub and Rinse only.
I tried turning off the breaker and restarting the machine but that doesn't work.

Dishwasher er error code

I have a similar problem with my Frigidaire FDB4050LHS1. My Owner's Manual says to contact the Customer Care Center if the display shows "Er", "uF", or "CE". When I called them, Maria didn't have a clue what the codes meant - all she could do was give me phone numbers to authorized service centers in my area.

I managed to get ahold of a "SERVICE DATASHEET" P/N: 154718601. The error code "ER/ER" means there is a "switch failure"; "ER/CE" denotes a "Configuration Error"; "ER/uo" means "Vent will not close"; and "ER/UF" means "Fan not running".

The schematic only labels three switches - labeled "USER INTERFACE SWITCH", "DOOR SWITCH", and "FLOAT SWITCH". There is also a switch in the pump motor assembly. If either the door or user interface switch is faulty, then you probably won't be able to do anything other than call a repair service - unless you know how to replace these switches yourself.

If the float switch is causing the error, you might be able to run the "Water/Service Test". From "PF" (denoting a Power Failure) or idle mode (with no lights on whatsoever), press and hold the "DRY/AIRDRY" and "START/CANCEL" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. This will start an 8-stage test that runs for about 7 and 1/2 minutes. The display will show which step the test is in until it shows an error code. Step 1 tests the water valve, which is where the float switch is located. If that switch is bad, you will likely see "Uo" displayed within the first minute of the test.
