That was very simple; too simple! We learned that we had put the wrong transparency through the computer and --------- you know the rest!. We fried our machine and ruined it.
Please advise people to be sure to use only the transparanecies that are designed for laser printers. Jerry

Driver required for HP laserjet 1018 with Applemac OS 10.4.10

Unfortunately, the 1018 is not supported in the mac environment.
Unless you are familiar with changing the source codes from linux to MAC I wouldn't attempt it.

The other option would be to set the printer up on a different machine as default and using a program like NETWORK MAGIC,
network the computers together and share the printer, Use the trial version first to see if it works.

Dots on print out

hi textmum,

Usually anomalies of this kind on the print output indicates that the printer is overdue for a maintenance cycle. This is due to the usual operating wear and tear the printer experiences during it's life cycle.

Seeing as how this could be an expensive operation, I suggest we first eliminate problem with the printer driver as the cause of the anomalous print output. To do this I need you to reinstall the printer on your PC using the latest drivers:

  1. Download the latest driver for your printer at
    http://www.samsung.com/za/support/download/supportDown.do?model_nm=ML-1520&mType=DR&vType=L&disp_nm=ML-1520
(be sure to select the driver which corresponds to the operating system you are running on your PC)
  2. Delete the printer from your PC
  3. Install the printer using the newly downloaded driver
If reinstalling the printer using the latest print driver doesn't result in a solution to the print output problem, we can deduce that the problem is caused by a hardware component.
To solve the hardware related problem you will need to either perform the maintenance cycle yourself or take the printer to a computer repair shop so a IT technician can do it for you. This process involves buying a maintenance kit (which contain replacement components for the printer), and replacing the components according to the maintenance kit manual.

Hope you find this information helpful in solving your printer related problem

Will a mac OS10 10.4.11 operare correctly with a lexmark printer #2500 version

I'm presuming that you have an X2500 printer, right? The only other Lexmark printer with the 2500 is a wheel printer.
If it is indeed the X2500, it should work correctly. If it does not, Lexmark even has drivers for it on the printer's support page: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+X2500

Printer problem

I don't know how things work on a Mac, but if you're on a Windows based system, make sure the printer driver is installed on BOTH machines.
