Question about RCA D52W19 52" Rear Projection Television

Won't turn on, popping noise

Turn the set on, light comes on it pops (almost sounds like a sizzling pop), light goes off and comes back on, does the same thing. It will do this three times then it just shuts off.
Turn it back on, it does it 3 times again and shuts off.
There is never a picture during any of this

OK, so here's the deal. My rca d52w19 is acting up. Turn the tv on, the green power light turns on for maybe 3 second and then the sizzling kicks in. The tv tries to kick on another 2 or maybe 3 more times with the same sizzling sound yet it just won't stay on. I've turned it on with the back panel removed (staying away from anything back there and only looking with a flashlight) and the sound seems to be coming from the left side somewhere but I can't pinpoint it. I've changed the flyback and a small capacitor located on the left hand side board (CL031) that was burnt out. Still nothing. I've taken the entire tv apart front and back, checked all boards for burnt capacitors or solder issues, which i don't see, but I still hear this sizzling when I try to turn it on. Now the board does have a burn mark from this CL031 capacitor so I'm wondering if the board is shot? On a side note, I waited a full week (while I was waiting for the part to come in as well) with the tv unplugged to allow the tv to discharge before I touched any power sources. My understanding is the flyback can pack a punch if charged and the charge can hold for a good 4 days plus so be careful if this is an option your going to try. Anyway, my tv still won't turn on and we're in the process of looking for new tv's but i'd love to try to fix this one rather than spend another grand plus on another tv so if anyone has any suggestions I'm open for them. chassis # is ITC222. Thanks a bunch!

When I turn on my Viore LC24VXF60PB tv; it comes on with a blank screen for 20 sec; makes a popping sound then turns itself off.

A popping sound is usually caused by a failed power supply. Because of the possibility of fire, unplug the TV and call a service technician or, it the TV has some age on it, shop for a new one. Check out the Consumer Reports ratings before buying a new set. You'll get the best quality TV that way.

TV picture goes out after 10 minutes of viewing with popping sound

It can be a couple things. Something bad on the power board. Or the vertical output circuit. How long ago did you purchase the television. Your best course of action is to have it serviced.
If you need any information or other assistance let me know.
Thanks,

Try to turn on but yellow Lite flashes ages times then just stays on. Lights up in back know there is power. Hit remote; goes back to red with popping noise.

If you are hearing a popping noise you have a short of some kind---likely in the power supply.

If you are able to take apart----look at turn on to see or hear where the sound is coming from.

Suspect number one is power supply but it could be downstream from it.

If possible give me a model number which is not indicated on this post.

Popping and Humming noise from my audio system?

Ground Loop Isolators are nice, but if you want truly crystal clear sound, you will need to run a common ground. All electronics will need to be run close to the amp, as more than about 3 feet of ground wire from the amp can cause sound issues. When I ran my common ground, I connected my radio and satellite together, and ran one sigle ground wire to the backseat of my car, where the amp grounds are located. This will optimize the clarity of the sound coming through the speakers. For the popping sound in the speakers when the car is powered on or off, you need to see if the radio itself has a wire to power the remote connection on the amp. Most of the time, they will, and this is the wire you will use to turn on the amp itself, as it delays each item powering on and reduces the chance of popping in the speakers. DO NOT run the remote wire from the amp to the accessory wire of the radio, as this will cause the popping sound you are hearing. If the radio does not have an Amp Turn-on wire, then you may need to improvise by using an accessory wire in another location, but even this is may cause popping as well. The pop comes from multiple things turning on at once, so the Amp Turn-on wire delays the amps for just a moment, preventing the pops.

Projection tv not working

I guess loud sizzling was from High Voltage Splitter in your TV. HV seems cracked and leaking high voltage.

You can observe and confirm it by removing back cover and power up TV from distance and check at rear of TV. Please take care and there should be little dark to observe arc from HV splitter.

If this is the case, HV splitter available in Part Store.

Sony Bravia XBR-2 32-inch LCD with popping noise problem

Unfortunately, we have the same problem. We hear popping and our sound goes lower. It is not the cable box for us, it's definitely the TV; however, it happens, on our set, after its been on for a few minutes and then goes away after half an hour or so -- however, this evening its been happening for the past hour and the TV has been on for the evening.

Popping sound and picture goes out

Sounds like the flyback or the picture tube. Either items can cause this. If the pop comes from the rear right side its the flyback. If the sound comes from the lower front behind the speaker grille its the tube. Let me know what you discover as I have access to any of the parts you would need.
