Sony vpl-cs10. Won't start.

Does it need the lens filter in to operate. The filter has worn out and it seems to have some sort of sensors in there. Thanks Adam.(Australia)

Hi, I work in a Sixth Form College in Leicester and we have a Sony VPL-EX4 Projector. The picture seems all washed out, any advice how to correct this please. Thanks

You can make all sorts of adjustments. From your description, it sounds like the contrast and brightness are mis-adjusted.

If you do not have the manual, you can download it from here.

Best of luck, Jim

I have Sony VPL CS6 projector and the lens cover stays open and wont shut to cover the lens!! The Lens/Cover light on it flashes? It does project for about 15seconds or so but then goes off, this is when...

It is possible that there can be few reasons for the fault siad:
1.the lamp can be faulty
2. the filter can be clogged.
3. the lens cap trigger switch can be faulty and staying on
4.The power supply can be faulty, not delivering the power but shuts off.
5,the main processor board can be faulty witth errors.
It might need board swapping to confirm.

VPL-HS20 shuts down in the middle of a movie

There is a heat sensor cutting down the power. The sensor is located on the upper side between lamp and fan and is monitoring the air temperatur. I don't know what is causing the sensor to switch - excessive heat or simply age or ... . Anyway un screwed this sensor and my problem disappeared.
Possibly a stronger fan would solve the problem too.
