Screen replacement hdtv

As i can see it should be easy to do. need to unscrew the back, then unscrew the cage and pull away then the screen is there sna you can replace it from there without having to remove any boards just remember there is a mirror inside the case at the top its only got glue holding it in its place. so take out carefully and place some were so it will not get damaged. the screen has a bazle holding it in place these can be brittle so take care removing it. as iv never seen a replacement one for any tv with them fitted. you can glue the screen in place but you can somtimes leave a mark and it will show up when the tv is on.

How can i repair the speakers? how can i remove the panel in front?

  • Turn on the TV set, bring up the convergence menu and make sure the three colors--red, green and blue--converge and overlap at the cross in the center of the screen. This is needed to help converge the TV later. Turn off and unplug the TV.

Remove the front screen by popping off the bezel and pulling the three combined screens out. Place wide cellophane tape around the frame to prevent the three screens from separating. Lay the screen someplace where it won't be bent or scratched.

  • 3

Remove the circuit board from the bottom of the CRT neck. It may be held in place by one screw or glued in place with silicon. Pull it out without twisting it.

We have blue botches on the screen along with blue dots which are spreading. It is a WEGA KF-42WE620- we have had it for 4 years. Do you have any idea of what is causing this?

    Hi

Yes, your optical block is faulty. To save you time I though I would direct you to a dedicated website regarding this problem.

Your model might not be the same as the models listed, but believe me you have the same problem.

I have blue botches ( ghosts ) appearing on the tv

This problem is caused by a bad optical block. Sony has extended the warranty for this problem but the extension is only valid until December 2008 so you must act now. You can find instructions for obtaining service and additional information here:

    Toshibia Hyperboard Problem

Get 10uf/16v radial lead 105 deg caps. Cut the leads short so they fit under the shield and give them a bend like the letter L when you solder them on the pads. These caps are easier to use than the original surface mounts and much better. Be very careful removing the old caps as not to lift the pads to which they are soldered. I will caution you that this job requires expert soldering skills and a good soldering tool with a fine tip. This is not a job for a novice. I know plenty of pros that botched hyper modules. Take note to observe polarity of the cap when installing. I don't know the part numbers off hand but you can Google "Toshiba hyper module kit" and find a list. I use an ESR meter and test for the bad caps. You will use about 7 or 8 so it is cheaper to order a pack of ten.

You definitely have a convergence problem based on the photo you provided. It looks as though someone reset the memory back to an uncorrected state or botched the job replacing the chips. Customer controls will not help you. You need to have a qualified technician address this problem. Good

I need to replace a broken screen on my sony kf 50we610

    Hi drdoolittle,

Some screens have labels, so place them so the labels are upright and tward the front of the TV.

The outside screen is the lenticular screen. The black vertical lined side is outside. The fresnel screen has very fine circular lines in it. You can find them by feeling them. This goes against the lenticular back side of the screen. the fesnel has a flat side that is the back. It will be tward the mirror. If the mirror has two shiny sides, then it should be placed with the mirror side out. You can tell this by placing your finger tip on the mirror. If the finger nail meets a fingernail, then this is the mirrored side. Install this side tward the front.

Try to keep dust from between the screens. Check by looking through the screens before you put the in the frame. Then check them again after you put them in the frame.

Wear latex gloves to keep finger prints away.

Clean back of screen assembly and install the screen on the TV.

You can now watch the TV.

    Cheers, CrazyLee
