Question about Palm Treo 650 Handheld
Hello. My 650 doesn't see my bluetooth headsets (Jabra JX10, Jabra BT160, or Motorola (older around the ear silver and grey model, with black oval enclosure around silver call connect button)). Headsets are fully charged and can be seen by other cell phones. Bluetooth is turned On, is Discoverable, and Dial-Up Networking is Off.
Setup Devices, then "Hands-free Setup" then...
"Nearby devices", "All known devices", and "Trusted devices" don't find any devices for any of these selections. "Find More" doesn't produce any either.
"Trusted Devices" and "Add Device" don't produce any either.
"HotSync Setup" doesn't see my HP Pavilion 9000 laptop, nor does my laptop see it with Dial-up Networking turned On.
On a further frustrating note re not be able to use Bluetooth for handsfree, the physical earphone jack appears to have short issues where the jack MAY work if half way out and set just so to enable both speaking and hearing, otherwise at least one or the other won't work.
Phone is out of warranty. Everything else seems to work fine and it would be a shame to have to scrap this equipment and make it disposable like so many other cellphones/technology...
Had a similar problems. Throw out wired headsets with shorting problems. Their too cheap to try and fix.
Try rebooting the phone, then make sure the wireless headset is on. The trick is to get it into "trusted devices", so when you get the phone to seek new or nearby devices, you need to push the button on the earpiece so it sends a signal at the time the phone is trying to find it. It took me a number of trys, but finally got it to work. I use Verizon and they were quite helpful, even though the phone was "out of warrenty". I was re-activating my phone after not using it for a couple of years.
