F1 indicates there is a problem with the touch-pad or control itself. Usually, it's the touch pad. Try killing the power to the range and remove the touch pad ribbon from the control board. Clean it with an eraser. Power back up and see if the error comes back. If it does, remove the ribbon cable again and power up with-out it attached. If the same error still returns, then I would suspect the control board itself.

How to stop WB27K5040 from beeping F1 error code

Unfortunately, the F1 error means that either the touch pad has a short or the "clock" (electronic control unit) has failed. Sometimes the wire between the touch pad and the clock fails. To test for the exact problem, you would need to unplug the range and access the clock from the back of the range. Unplug the touch pad from the clock. Then plug in the range again. If the error does not recur, the touch pad is bad. If the F1 error and beeping repeat, the clock is bad.

GE sold the clock and touch pad as a single unit for the WB27K5040. Since this is an older model range, the replacement is not in stock. There are some places that offer to repair the clock. You'll need to remove the part (or get a service person to do it) and send it in. Your range will be unavailable for some weeks while this is attempted. Otherwise, you should replace the range when the issue becomes too frustrating.

I hope this helps.

Have a Frigidaire FEF353bfwc. Getting error message F1 and start button lights up and beeps constantly. What to do? Can it be fixed? and what would you guess is approximate cost?

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The dreaded F1 error code can be difficult to diagnose but here is the best thing to do
this is from the manufacture of the oven.
F1 Analog to Digital Failure Disconnect for 30 seconds - if display reappears - replace control board F1 Safety flip flop Replace board F1 Shorted keypad Replace keypad Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

The oven beeps and has a error F1

Hello,F1 means Stuck touch pad.
Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be canceled, replace the oven control(also called clock or ERC),touch pad,or both.

Thanks

Can you tell me what an F1 error Message means - 30 minutes into baking, I got beeping and an F1 error message. Canceling did not turn the oven off and the only thing I could do is turn it off at the...

Hi,

"F1" code clearly indicates that main control board has failed. The possible fix for this kind of problem is you have to replace the faulty circuit board. This is the only solution and you cant repair anything else in this unit when F1 flashes.
Thank you !!

Whirlpool oven timed bake feature dosn't work.

F1-E1 - EEPROM Checksum Error - Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect.
Allow at least a minute after power has been restored and if error code reappears, replace control board (clock).

I'm getting a random beeping and F1 error.

F1 code is a error message between the keypad/user interface and the control board located just behind the keypad. Replacing the keypad will usually fix this problem.
