If you mean the Bios in your PC then you should'nt have to change anything just to use a scanner. The only thing I can think is if you have to change the port settings in the PC's Bios.

Usually to get in to the Bios you have to press the Del key or F2 just after the PC starts but before it actually loads Windows. The procedure varies from PC to PC.
If it is that then this may help but only if the Scanner is a Parallel port version.
You should'nt have to change anything in the Bios for a USB Scanner.

Error message 0x10ff0800 appears when attempting to operate the scanner

off, ff, 10ff, 0ff, other, error

This solution applies to Parallel Port type scanners only (model names ending with "P")

The PARALLEL PORT on the PC must be changed to EPP mode.

    Solution for Compaq Presario 7400/7500
    · Power on or restart computer
    · Hit the "F10" every second until you see a message saying: "ENTERING BIOS SETUP"
    · Hit ENTER on the ENGLISH option
    · Move using the arrow keys to the heading "ADVANCED"
    · Move down to "DEVICE OPTIONS"
    · Now down to "PARALLEL PORT MODE"
    · You change the port mode by using the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to change (From ECP to EPP only).
    · When you have set the port to the desired mode hit the "F10" key to accept
    · Navigate back to the "MAIN" heading
    · Highlight the option: "SAVE CHANGES AND EXIT’’ hit ENTER and then "F10" to accept
    · The PC will now re-boot

    Solution for other PC Systems.
    · Power on or restart computer
    ·
Press your DELETE or F1/F8 key to enter BIOS / CMOS setup (if in doubt
please ask your PC supplier how to access the CMOS/BIOS settings and
change the Parallel Port settings from ECP to EPP).
    · Select "INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS "and enter
    ·
Scroll down to onboard parallel port mode then using the PAGE UP &
PAGE DOWN key change the port setting from ECP to EPP ONLY then press
your ESC KEY which will take you back to the main screen
    · Select "SAVE SETTINGS and EXIT" setup and ENTER
    · Select Y and ENTER to save settings to CMOS
    · Your system will now restart and go back to windows

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    THE
PROCEDURE TO CHANGE THIS SETTING VARIES BETWEEN PC MODELS AND
MANUFACTURERS. THE PROCEDURES IN THIS DOCUMENT ARE GENERALISED, AND
APPLY TO MANY COMMON BRANDS OF PC.

IF THE PROCEDURES HERE DO NOT
FUNCTION CORRECTLY ON YOUR SYSTEM, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PC MANUFACTURER
OR SUPPLIER, AND REQUEST INSTRUCTIONS ON CHANGING THE PARALLEL PORT TO
    EPP MODE

    Hope this helps.

Film scaning options are missed in Select Source

I had the same problem. My solution is: "Just go to settings on Canoscan Toolbox. Then go to copy button, drop down and select scan2. This comes "Copy" as default setting. Change it to scan2. Click ok. On Canoscan toolbox main interface click scan2 and bingo, you'll see film option on select source . Hope this works

I have a CanoScan 8600F. When I want to scan I get the not enough space on the target disk

This seems to happen quite often with the Canon scanners. If you know you have enough space on your hard drive, open the CanoScan Toolbox, then click on Settings and change the folder where the temporary files are stored to another folder of your choice, or create a new one in your documents.

Canon CanoScan LIDE 25

Use the PDF function of the CanoScan Toolbox. On the options screen for a pdf, click the drop down box next to “Save as Type:”. Select “PDF (Multiple Pages)”. This option causes CanoScan to stop after each page is scanned and ask if there is a next page or if you are finished.

Resolution ?

When you turn on the Fun Flash! camera, the default resolution is 640 x 480, as indicated by the two stars displayed on the LCD panel. To change the resolution to 320 x 240, you need to turn the camera off and then press and hold the self-timer button while turning the camera back on. Release the self-timer button and the camera will be in the lower resolution mode (indicated by the single star on the LCD). Remember, the next time you turn on your Fun Flash! camera it will default back to the 640 x 480 setting.
