From VCR to Computer quality is great. The audio gets really bad during the burn process onto a DVD disk. From VCR to Computer quality is great. The audio gets really bad during the burn process onto a DVD disk.

It is unlikely not to have copied the audio, You don't say what device you are trying to play the file on. If it's your computer you need to have the correct codec installed for the type of audio in the file. First try installing VLC VideoLAN Official page for VLC media player the Open Source video...
if that fails then here is the codec you need Free Download DivX 264 Decoder 8 2 0 26
If it wont play on your LG I need more info about the record options and the type of disc used
use any dvd burning software ... choose option "copy dvd" and after that give the sourceand destination the same..ie source and destination should be the same..this allows the dvd to make a copy not on the hard disc...and after copying the source dvd, the drive ejects and insert new blank dvd.. and you are done
If it is a dvd copy of something, or was made on a computer...some dvd players have a hard time reading the disc consistently. Try with a normal store bought dvd, and see what happens. Also, the lens could use a cleaning. A good thing to have is a cd/dvd lens cleaner disc. hope this helps
Cannot do this on a combo unit. There is a chip that senses copy protection and prevents recording a copy-protected DVD to a VHS and vice-versa.
Solution: Use an outboard DVD player or an outboard VHS VCR and try the recording with the video routed through a "stabilizer" box. The stabilizer (about $30 or less on Ebay) defeats the copy protection on MOST DVDs, but not all.
It works with Netflix DVDs.
Route the audio as usual. Audio is not protected.

look for an option in the DVD menu for dubbing this means to copy contents to hdd (usually cannot do it with copy protected discs but will be ok with a disc you made yourself)
Yes, this is how you do it, you just instruct the dvd burner program to 'copy disk' and it will make a temp image on your hard drive, ask for another blank dvd and burn the copy for you. Its not labor intensive but does take time to babysit and label the copies. I use a sharpie initially and later use the label maker to make a decent label.
Any other questions, just use th comment box to do so.
